Ohio OK’d recreational cannabis — what happens now?

Ohio has become the 24th U.S. state to legalize recreational marijuana.Adults 21 and older will soon be allowed to use cannabis under Ohio law, following voters’ approval on Tuesday of a new citizen-initiated statute. But there are still months worth of regulatory work before it will go on sale.

Now there’s less you can do than before! 😆 They might run into issues with the 133ga, sb57 that already legalized the recreational market. That created the one half of 1 per cent cultivation for sale tax. That law states grain laws are to be used for licensing limits. Which made a person need over 999 plants to qualify for a cultivation license. Now they cut it to 6-plants. So definitely a prohibition, not new rights ballot. I’ve never seen so many people happy about less allowed than before, lol. A little shady they’re depriving 18-20 year olds the right to choose. Instead of current legal distribution laws for legal drugs. 18 and under need to go through medical. The science behind brain development actually reaches out to around 26. Regardless, it forces some adults to medical now. Completely against the concept of prohibition debates of right to self care. Those are what would lead to wording changes. Not things like the USDA gaslighting themselves by stating they don’t regulate a recreational level of use(seeds, etc.), but try to regulate on Ohio’s Hemp page. Their 133ga, SB57 violates Ohio’s constitution with special privileges for universities, but enterprise person wording isn’t consumer wording and rights, 🤷🏻‍♂️. Everything I’ve read on it since Kasich brought already FDA approved Marinol and Cesemet to get voted down at ballots and dispensaries open anyway at high dollar credentialing. Looked like zero an adult could mess up stopping at local Puff n Stuff on a way to ballots for some Delta-9 already on shelves from already legal cannabis.

In that aspect though. An initiative doesn’t remove existing rights, so already legal.

What needs to happen now is that the fed needs to legalize it. Even though it’s legal in a state puts weed in a weird state of limbo and doesn’t protects legitimate weed businesses like how other businesses are protected. The list goes on, but there are still a ton of issues because of the federal government.

  21. @williambock1821 on December 10, 2023 at 6:20 pm

What happens now? The GOP stands in total opposition to the majority of Ohio voters and stops legalization from happening. They will do the same with abortion. They do NOT support democracy. The GOP needs to GO. It’s the only way Ohio becomes a state that can compete with other places that have sane legislators. Wake up OHIO! The GOP has done NOTHING for you.

    POT FARMER POEM – 2023 $$
I got out my pipe stuffed it with pot
You better believe it held a whole lot.
I whipped out a lighter thumbed up a flame
Sucked down that smoke which comforts my brain.

    I tried alcohol smoked cigarettes
They did nothing but give me regrets.
My mom had arthritis could not walk around
I rolled her a joint she danced on the ground.

I thought I was losing my lovemaking knack
After I smoked some to me it came back.
Soon I decided prices were high
I searched for some ground I wouldn’t have to buy.

I bargained for seeds from smokers all around
Got in my truck and drove out of town.
I walked through the woods where wild birds nest
Found me the meadow I thought was the best.

I dug up the ground sowed all my seeds
Said a small prayer for strong, healthy weeds.
I watered at night with a five-gallon pail
Mosquitoes went hungry for I wore a veil.

Seven months went by; I thought I would die
Till the Halloween moon was high in the sky.
At night I went out, in a camouflage suit
Used my corn knife to chop down the loot.

I hung it up to dry where it could not be found.
Came back and got it, when it had turned brown.
I trimmed off the buds, stuffed them in bags
Called all my friends and passed out free drags.

In less than a week my crop was gone
I flew to St. Thomas with a love hungry blonde!!

You fools are living in the age of indulgence and this is not the wisest of things but the worst. There will be severe consequences, sooner than later. How short-sighted has the rush for wealth been by those who have legalized pot, that they neglected to tell this generation and the generations to come that by legalizing the right to take mind-altering drugs like pot, it can easily lead to even harder drugs like coke, crystal meth, crack cocaine, heroin, etc.

The politicians failed to admit to us that they have stock investments in pot farms and make fortunes every time a state legalizes recreational pot. Seems like a conflict of interest. Tell me, what good did it do to the generation of the 1960’s who got high so often, they began leaping out of office windows on LSD and overdosing themselves to death? What good did it do to ruin their lives as drugs became the masters of their lives? Their lives were ruined in the process because their brains were ruined. And you only have one brain.

But that was the Woodstock generation. They dropped out of school, they tuned out and turned on. TV cop shows like Dragnet tried repeatedly to warn American youth about the dangers of taking drugs. Our politicians back then were sane and also tried to educate those kids back then about the dangers to their brains drugs posed.

But rock music stars and comedians and actors in movies mocked the people who issued the warnings and ridiculed them as being ‘square’ and old fashion. The Woodstock generation became America’s least productive society up to that time. They amounted to nothing, most of them. Is it any wonder abortion arose out of that generation? Many of them ended up homeless, broke, starving, jobless, weary and aimless. Is this generation to follow their example?

[[>>>>>Legalize cannabis federally within each and every state. This way, irrational prohibitionist politicians can’t obstruct and prevent legalization against the will of the vast majority of Americans whom support full federal cannabis legalization nationwide. Treat cannabis exactly like we treat far more dangerous and deadly yet perfectly legal alcohol. Legal in all states.>

I for one will not be supporting any Ohio regulated dispensary beins they are the biggest slap in the face to the people. They will just make it to where we can’t afford it anyway. To all the people complaining that the infused candy and snacks are marketed to kids. You are full of sh*t. It’s ok to have Vodka that tastes like breakfast cereal and whisky that tastes like candy? But no one complains about that being advertised to kids. Its because its not. Adults like sweet treats too. But in this society for some reason candy flavored booze is ok, but candy flavored weed isn’t. People need to STFU and stop being hypocrites. People pick and choose what they want to outrage over, depending on what best fits their agenda. Kids have no business being in a headshop. They can’t just walk into a liquor store. They can’t just walk into a dispensary. Stop with this fear mongering. It only shows how truly ignorant you are.
