There’s no doubt that "cleaner" and "healthier" ( relatively ) methods of administration are gaining market share. The increasing age of the very large "baby-boomer" population, those who first popularized both medical and recreational cannabis, has a lot to do with that trend. ( guilty as charged ) But, the edibles have significant issues that can’t be sidestepped: the long delay before onset, and the difficulty of self-titration. Many consumer products that affect the mind & body have quick onset. Alcohol and tobacco, coffee and tea, all have rapid onset. I see "recreation" as better suited to quick onset methods, and "medication" as better suited to slower acting products and I suspect the market will move in that direction. But … what do I know? I was reminded recently of a quotation from a politician who was asked his opinion of a bitterly fought and close election that he had just lost. He said: "The people have spoken …. the bastards."
