I feel like with Rhaenyra and Aegon it really comes down to if you want a ruler who knows they are going to be bad at ruling like Aegon admits to Aemond and alicent , just to be mediocre, but comes with way less problems or a ruler who believes they are going to be good at ruling like Rhaenyra, just to be mediocre, but comes with a whole lot of problems

  2. @sindelscat9336 on August 2, 2024 at 7:35 pm

Honestly, pretty much every candidate in line was unfit to rule, Aegon and Aemond especially.

  3. @vladline1882 on August 2, 2024 at 7:35 pm

No one is safe in game of thrones. That’s why never be attached to characters. Lmao

  4. @margaritaaremos1560 on August 2, 2024 at 7:35 pm

She herself admitted, her father did not teach her how to fight.

  5. @MarcusPorcius on August 2, 2024 at 7:36 pm

    The show isn’t canon 🙁

  6. @LDGreenkat on August 2, 2024 at 7:39 pm

Book is miles better they fucked up daemon and raenerya in the show

  7. @AbdulWahab-bd2sy on August 2, 2024 at 7:42 pm

It is not her fault but the show runners, many of her actions were out of character. She is shown Good in the show, but in the books she is more vengeful and decisive.

  8. @wildorchid2564 on August 2, 2024 at 7:45 pm

Incorrect. She has no idea anyone else could claim dragons at the time. They didn’t have more family, and that’s all she knew at the time.

She should have sent three dragons to rooks rest. Vhagar wouldn’t have been able to fight three faster dragons. Meleys almost won that fight on her own. Had there been another dragon there would not have been a chance to surprise meleys and kill her.

  9. @MykCola on August 2, 2024 at 7:46 pm

I cant agree with this enough.

  10. @margaret4196 on August 2, 2024 at 7:50 pm

Rhaenys, the Queen that never was, should have been Queen instead of Vicerys being chosen. Things would have turned out so much better with a competent ruler. Vicerys, Rhaenyra, Aegon and Aemond don’t have the intelligence and capabilities to rule.

  11. @queenxx1690 on August 2, 2024 at 7:50 pm

She would not be good Queen lol you so one sided

  12. @fella293 on August 2, 2024 at 7:51 pm

From the show. I was thinking to myself she would have been a great ruler. She listens and she is kind. Daemon would bring the fear factory.

  13. @ganjahiwalker2641 on August 2, 2024 at 7:52 pm

In the books she didn’t look for his body at all.

  14. @Arbiter2427 on August 2, 2024 at 7:53 pm

Yo I can’t speak for the books but the show really isn’t making me see her side or wanna root for her at all

  15. @dannyeller3018 on August 2, 2024 at 7:53 pm

It’s kinda cool how it contrasts with Game of Thrones. King Robert Baratheon is a shit ruler in a time of peace whereas Queen Rhaenyra is just as bad of a leader during war.

  16. @Ayrus171 on August 2, 2024 at 7:54 pm

Well calling the dragon seed ended up a disaster so i wont call tht a gud decision

  17. @Not-Ap on August 2, 2024 at 7:55 pm

I mean in her defense it was very very nobel thing to attempt. It’s was just far to late for any of these half mesures to work. The Green Council had been plotting for decades and probably would used any pretense to put Aegon on the throne. Otto despite being a wise politically savy hand would not have hesitated to scarifice on anyone (including small folk) on the altar of his ambitions. He just did it in a less indiscriminate way to minimize the dealth toll but deaths would happen regardless.

  18. @wolfspider9815 on August 2, 2024 at 7:56 pm

She’s an ineffective queen because she took every single chance and put her own life at risk to avoid further blood shed and war..? Yeah she had to grieve her son’s brutal surprising death-shame on her?
She sent food to the capital while the people there were starving, she refuses to be further belittled by a table of ignorance, she puts Daemon in his place so hard he left her in her time of need and she powers past that to comtinue her goal, she upholds her husband’s word for freeing her future spy master, and by the end of the second season with only little help and minor support from her own son and no one elses she has nearly doubled her dragons and flexed hard on Vhagar, yeah quite ineffective what a waste of time…????

  19. @JoshPeterson on August 2, 2024 at 7:57 pm

She did end up looking for dragon riders, though, so I don’t know what you’re on about

  20. @kap2652 on August 2, 2024 at 8:00 pm

She wouldn’t be a good queen in times of peace anything goes wrong and the smallfolk at her doors blaming her and her bastards

  21. @thomasleonardis711 on August 2, 2024 at 8:01 pm

She sought peace before committing to war. Even after her own son was killed. Alienated her strongest and most experienced warlord over his brutal act of killing a child. Considered her actions and their effects on the smallfolk before committing to a course of war. Fed the people of the city who were suffering from her blockade AND assembled an army of dragon riders to defend her claim and punked the rider of the most feared dragon in the entire world. Mind you she also had her son secure the allegiance of 2 of the high lords (but we will count that as season 1) and sent an agent to bring Daemon and and his army back into the fold.

What have the greens done besides kill an old lady and her dragon? And of course fratricide.

Get out of here with this weak queen crap. Caution is not weak. Considering your actions and their consequences for others as well as yourself is not weak. She is the only Targaryen in the entire show that seems to understand being a ruler is a duty not a privilege.

  22. @hugohernandez610 on August 2, 2024 at 8:06 pm

Not in the books, in the books she’s a beast

  23. @priestessneptune on August 2, 2024 at 8:09 pm

    She is her father’s daughter

  24. @know846 on August 2, 2024 at 8:09 pm

What qualities does she have??? Honestly except the strong will bullshit, what does she have??

  25. @yanvictory2832 on August 2, 2024 at 8:11 pm

I’m a science teacher and to me Rhenyra is the classic popular kid that when you look close is very… I don’t know, maybe misleading (?)
When she’s young she doesn’t show any active interest in anything besides dragon riding. She’s not passionate about art, economies war, history philosophy religion, nothing. We just don’t see her pursuing anything 🤷🏻
She just despises the idea of getting married and/or pregnant.
And when her best friend (who she just lies to) get married and pregnant, she’s just not there for her. In fact she discovers that she really likes the S thing, and proceeds to do it with three different men (Cole, Daemond and Strong).
Then she sees her little brothers are treated like garbage by her father, and does nothing again, even though she should know that an issue could arise from that.
She doesn’t have the idea to marry to Laenor (that comes from Alicent). She doesn’t propose to marry her uncle (hi does that). She doesn’t propose to marry Aegon and seal the bridge before it gets worse (Otto does that (and that was maybe the best ideia to avoid conflict)) Her only two ideaa now are: to flee King’s Landing (bad move) and merry her son to Alicent’s daughter (who everyone knows is a bastard).
Then she doesn’t have the idea of making lords of anyone who can ride a dragon (Jace does that) or to raise an army of bastards (White worm does that).
Ok, she takes the prophecy seriously, but that’s it.
She doesn’t care about her friend (Alicent), her knight (Cole, who yes, she manipulated) her brothers, the laws (she wants all the privileges, bur no responsibility)… It’s just that her character is likable, pretty and have good dialogues (in my opinion).
Yeas, she is nice to Laenor, she is a good mother (up until now) and more or less faithful to Daemond, but… Is she really that good? Or they just made Aegon very unlikable in contrast?

  26. @aegorbittersteel2154 on August 2, 2024 at 8:12 pm

In the book she’s a lot worse.
Can’t wait for her dark journey with her being nicer she’s going to have to fall harder.

  27. @richtea615 on August 2, 2024 at 8:16 pm

I’m not sure exactly what the show runners of HOTD and GOT are trying to say about women rulers. 🤔

  28. @hdeodh on August 2, 2024 at 8:17 pm

she should have started transitioning power from her father when he got sick, instead, she stayed on Dragon Stone while the queen became his regent

  29. @MrWhiteLioness on August 2, 2024 at 8:17 pm

For those who reads novel books, do you feel like watching the shows (regardless of which one it is) brings a sense of suprise or you just know the cards that are being played and only watch the shownfor the visualizations ?

I love that the show change plot twist and many individuals who "know what will happen" are in shock because it is not like the books.

  30. @luckyadrianhutapea on August 2, 2024 at 8:22 pm

That’s how game of Thrones should works. You should get iritated by the errors they have made. But in a good way in term of plot ofcourse. Every body fucks up and I love it

  31. @Chad0023 on August 2, 2024 at 8:25 pm

Wasn’t she way different in the source material which wld make more sense, in her physical and mental state

  32. @jamaljohnson1789 on August 2, 2024 at 8:25 pm

It kind of reminds me of an argument I have about her father. It comes up every time someone says that he had a great rain as king because he had nothing but peace, but let’s be honest. It was peaceful before him, extreme violence after him because of his inability to be a great king, and let’s not act like he made it peaceful during his time as king he’s just lucky he wasn’t a mad king and had a rebellion

  33. @digge2210 on August 2, 2024 at 8:28 pm

GEORGE decided to not send Rhaenyra, Jahaerys and Baela togheter with Rhaenys because the war would have stopped there. No Drama is there arent stupid decisions

  34. @Nenernener123 on August 2, 2024 at 8:28 pm

Not sure this has any value, yes she tried to be honorable & isn’t prepared to play the game of thrones yet. Rooks Rest wasn’t a worthy location for all dragons to go, she was the only that noticed something was off. If only she had decent counsel!

  35. @redrevolver11 on August 2, 2024 at 8:29 pm

Sam suggested democracy but stupid lords of westros didnt agree

  36. @MeleysTargaryen on August 2, 2024 at 8:29 pm

I can’t really blame her for looking for her son’s remains. Which Rheanyra did not find his body just clothes and Arrax’s wing.

  37. @TheSealKnight on August 2, 2024 at 8:29 pm

The throne has caused more issues then it has solved

  38. @godz4681 on August 2, 2024 at 8:32 pm

In the books Jace wants to go with Rhaenys to Rooksrest but was stop by Rheynara. That would have been a good 2 v 2 battle but I think the black would have still lost

  39. @Al4___ on August 2, 2024 at 8:32 pm

Not being able to show action doesn’t make you a good monarch in peace time either

  40. @esnoob2282 on August 2, 2024 at 8:32 pm

After Rhaenyra goes to kings landing for that dumb risky “peace negotiations”. The show runners seem to forgot lukes death and the main driving force of that war is the bs prophecy…

  41. @kingkongchief1177 on August 2, 2024 at 8:33 pm

Rhaenyra was like her Father. She kept making stupid decisions.
