Adding Sugars To Cannabis Plants Guide – Molasses, Corn Syrup or Honey

Today on Lex’s World, let’s talk adding sugars to your marijuana plants! This is a common additive that growers use; we’ll talk about how much sugar to use, when to apply it – flowering or vegetative – and which sugar is best. I linked to some decent ones below. IMPORTANT NOTE: sugars, like anything else you add to your water such as flowering nutrients, should only be added roughly every 2nd watering. NOT on every single watering. I always alternate plain water and additives-filled water.

"Blackstrap" molasses is a good one. I use it two weeks before harvest to flush out my plants.

  6. @bjordan95 on September 7, 2024 at 6:04 pm

This is really interesting. May I ask, you say this works best in soil over hydro, does this also include coco coir? Secondly are you adding the sugar along with normal nutrients, or does this replace some flower nutrients? Thanks 👍🏻

I’ve been adding molasses for years. Gotta feed the microbes who in turn feed the plant

  10. @bugoutfozzy on September 7, 2024 at 6:12 pm

I prefer raw unfiltered honey. Bee honey is rich in antioxidants, osmotically active substances, vitamins, and various nutrients, including selenium and iodine, all of which make honey an effective eco-friendly policy that can be used to mitigate the unwanted influences of abiotic stress, including excessive N stress, and help to sustain crops under stress. Therefore, nourishing plant leaves with diluted bee honey solution, reduces stress, mitigates the toxicity stimulated by excessive N utilization, and promoted growth, productivity, production quality, photosynthetic efficiency, nutritional and hormonal balance, leaf integrity, osmotically active substances, antioxidant activities, and enzyme gene expression, thus enhancing antioxidant defense systems to effectively eliminate ROS for plant survival under stress.

  17. @Haddawimahdi on September 7, 2024 at 6:22 pm

Hi, can I use data molasses to decrease the soil pH?

  18. @TheRealKalEll on September 7, 2024 at 6:22 pm

I can 100% prove that molasses not only improves bud size but is in fact absorbed by the plant and attracts (when outside) insects that attack the leaves by piercing and sucking out the sweetened chlorophyll pockets as they swell and ripen sometimes destroying your outdoor plants completely. Bugs nest inside your dense buds causing a mold to form so be cautious, tree worms ESPECIALLY!!! And it makes the bud taste sweeter and the smoke is more dense.

May I ask please ? Why do some people pull up the complete Plant at harvest but put it in a bucket of warm water mixed with brown sugar? It makes absolutely no fkg sense! Cheers appreciate any actual reason to improve harvest at HARVEST?? P.S I completed my very first grow. Yes I’m fkg 50 years old. Any way I planted 10 seeds lost 9 plants within 4 weeks. But one Beautiful female was well over 7 feet tall when I was confident HARVEST WAS READY. BOUT 1 month back in beautiful WA 🇦🇺🇦🇺❤️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️. Now for a female with no male to Poland my female that I could see. Tells me there are others in the area. People always like to bullshit. Not me guys it was unbelievable after drying and a very successful cure of the flowers. They held every colour imaginable. The smell was very different to what I’d previously seen and used. It was like smelling a fruit salad with a high quality alcoholic beverage. ? Total yield was 28 ounces. Plus 15 ounces of leaf. Those 15 ounces 5 ounces were trimmings which have been vac sealed for cakes and cookies. It’s estimated it’s THC CONTENT WAS 18%. I’m very happy and I’m hooked on the enjoyable and hundreds of different methods, strains ect. Damm cool. Ohh I only smoke this weed before bed. It’s a sleeper but that’s what I need for high anxiety when trying to sleep. 100% effective.👍👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Blackstrap molasses will help. Its best to make a tea,mid flower till flush.Everyone flushes differently I have learned to feed underground or you will have problems with animals and bugs. Its always good to incorporate it in your feeding schedule. The results speak for themselves

  23. @rosskstar on September 7, 2024 at 6:26 pm

Add yeast to your sugared water and let sit for a day or 3… the fungus will help break down the soil

  24. @babbybailey2534 on September 7, 2024 at 6:26 pm

Sorry, did I miss how long you feed, or when to feed molasses.

  25. @buddydavidson8549 on September 7, 2024 at 6:27 pm

I just mixed brown sugar up in water because it has molasses in it imported on my plant out in the woods as long as you piss around it it keeps animals away Earth big and small especially if you got your Pitbull out there piss on where you pissed

  26. @MrRolloTomassie on September 7, 2024 at 6:30 pm

  33. @ooocha1 on September 7, 2024 at 6:37 pm

If you use myochorizai when gals are seedlings in soil, molasses feeds the myochorizai. Bigger roots b8gger fruitystoots.

  34. @c4r5on88 on September 7, 2024 at 6:37 pm

So the sugar I put in my cup of tea us no good 😞 I thought they’d of loved it. Good job I never give them any

  35. @jesusoftheapes on September 7, 2024 at 6:38 pm

Agave syrup is MILES better than molasses which will make your grass taste DANK like a dank basement and not sweater. Agave syrup is going to enhance the flavors your plant has naturally while most other sugars will dominate your flavor pallet and change the way you grass is flavored . Agave will not effect flavors much at all but molasses will . Sugar wont. However if you believe your buds will be bigger by 20% because of sugar you are fooling yourself. You may see 1% to 3% improvement but density will increase more than the overall size of your buds. This has benefits to your grows . There is 0 doubt but the amount of insects it attracts outdoors makes it the DEVIL and you DO NOT want to use this outdoors.

  36. @TubeDupe on September 7, 2024 at 6:39 pm

I use sugar cane molasses and TBH watering with the deep-brown caramel-coloured water is psychologically very satisfying.
The fact that the sugars stimulate soil microbes leads me to think that it’s a good idea to used it a few times at the beginning of the vegetative phase.

  37. @LexBlazer on September 7, 2024 at 6:39 pm

Woah! You did NOT just scroll down into the comments and forget to subscribe, did ya? DID YA? 🙂 Didn’t think so. A note on the directions in this video: like with all additives you mix into your water, you should not be adding your sugars on every single watering…I recommend to add nutrients only every 2nd watering, and the same goes for adding sugars during flowering.

  38. @tobi...398 on September 7, 2024 at 6:42 pm

Shouldn’t honey be better because he has enzymes?

  39. @BBUBst on September 7, 2024 at 6:43 pm

    Anyone who uses metric system.
Sugar is 0.4% to total water%.
14ml sugar to 3.7 litres water

  40. @karlonharkless355 on September 7, 2024 at 6:47 pm

    Is agave good?

  41. @finlayp4897 on September 7, 2024 at 6:47 pm

When In my plants lifecycle and how often should I add molasses?

  42. @blightedgrounds on September 7, 2024 at 6:48 pm

    It ain’t worth it.
I can buy great weed at my local dispensary for $60-70 an ounce.
So much easier than taking up room space, buying tons of nutrients, then caring for plants 24/7 for 1/3 of my year just to smoke some.

  43. @oldandintheway9805 on September 7, 2024 at 6:48 pm

Where do you find that many moles?

  44. @chrismiller8748 on September 7, 2024 at 6:53 pm

Why would anybody add corn Syrup ? its full of Mercury.

  45. @chadreid1327 on September 7, 2024 at 6:54 pm
