Decriminalizing marijuana | Kentucky Tonight | KET
Kentucky Tonight panelists debated the war on drugs in the state of Kentucky and more specifically the what the consequences for possession of marijuana should be. Bill Goodman hosts.
Please legalize marijuana!!! There is no reason to have alcohol legal and marijuana not!!
People will still go to jail for weed related probation violations. Alcohol is legal and you can’t use that while on probation
First of all gents, I don’t know how much money your constituents are paying you to lie to their faces and avoid all scientific facts to base your decisions on past lies. The worst part is that I cant tell if you are really believing what you are saying or if you simply failed to get any substantial education on the subject. And someone needs to mention the need for industrial hemp HERE LOCALLY IN OUR COUNTRY NOW!
"Its very causes people to do stuff."
the greatest plant in the universe is almost free…christian conservative kentucky doesn’t want people to self reflect and think for themselves…and most businesses would lose massive amounts of money if hemp was allowed to flourish into 1000s of products and uses
Sec, J. Michael Brown believes "that most of what is going in marijuana in Kentucky is part of a larger criminal enterprise" well thats true because marijuana is illegal.
If Big Macs and Chicken Mcnuggets, which kill more people than marijuana annually, were made illegal then every Mcdonalds you see would be part of a "criminal Enterprise".
From FBI Glossary of Terms
The Continuing Criminal Enterprise statute, or Title 21 of the United States Code, Section 848(c)(2), defines a criminal enterprise as any group of six or more people, where one of the six occupies a position of organizer, a supervisory position, or any other position of management with respect to the other five, and which generates substantial income or resources, and is engaged in a continuing series of violations of subchapters I and II of Chapter 13 of Title 21 of the United States Code.
So all of not most of Marijuana in Kentucky is part of a larger Criminal Enterprise because it is illegal. The enterprise is not criminal in the fact that it responsible for Deaths and the disease of the Public unlike Tobacco, Alcohol, or fast food, which are all legal but are killing thousands of people yearly. Killing, which is defiantly a large part of a criminal enterprise, but simply because it was made illegal less than a hundred years ago by people who "disagreed" with the use of marijuana but agreed with the use and legalization of alcohol and tobacco. Alcohol made legal after the many problems of prohibition where exposed. Just as the many problems of marijuana have been seen but stated for the reasons for continuation of that same prohibition.
The solution to the problems of alcohol prohibition was to legalize alcohol, which was agreed upon by some of the people and their government representatives which lead to a vote and passed after that vote revealed that a majority agreed for the legalization even though thousands of deaths are contributed to alcohol yearly.
The same action of a vote for or against the legalization of marijuana should apply, because it is agreed upon by some of of the people and their representatives to see if a majority agrees for legalization of marijuana would be the solution of marijuana prohibition. Which does not lead to thousand of deaths yearly.
Then marijuana wouldn’t be part of a "criminal enterprise" solving one of if not the largest stated problems of marijuana.
The old man probably smokes weed but he just stays in denial in
This state is ran on pills. I go hell yeah for legalization of cannabis but we need some of the tax money from legal cannabis toward our over use of opiates. There has been a drug rehab been put in my town and it is currently stocked full of opioid users. Kentucky needs some real help with that.
Brown is an idiot. Marijuana IS NOT addictive!!! There are some people who should not use it because of age or because of body chemistry. Alcohol is addictive coffee and opioids are addictive. Stop fighting the will of the voters. These guys either have never tried it or just want to hoard it all for themselves. So tired of these politicians going against the people.
LOL at that one old man. Such ignorance!
wow…how did these people get their jobs? they don’t do whats best for there state and country more like whats best for them. water can kill you , you can become addicted to cigs but they say that pot has those two qualities and thats why its illegal. Lets just wrap every thing up and protective foam and try and live forever.
4:08 if you watch anything of this watch the old guy get called out with his disinformation.
Maybe people are stealing copper because they are on pills and can’t get any jobs. GIve us Marijuana as a new industry, so that we can make real money instead of letting it line the pockets of criminals who sell other drugs.
