Is Legal Cannabis in Germany Working? (FULL DOCUMENTARY)

From Grow Rooms to Parliament: Is Legal Cannabis in Germany Working? (FULL DOCUMENTARY)

Join Home Grow TV in this deep dive into the state of cannabis legalization in Germany. This full documentary, featuring Humboldt Seed Company and @VinceAndWeed explores the landscape from home growers to hemp farms, and beyond.

We start our journey with the German home-growers, from an old-school cultivator using living soil to another operating an ATHENA setup and preparing to open a German Social Club in Berlin—White Lakes Weed Berlin. Together, we discover which genetics and strains are gaining popularity in Germany.

Next, we visit a German hemp farm outside of Berlin focused on fiber and seed production. Alongside the Humboldt Seed Company, we explore the good, the bad, and everything in between of Germany’s evolving cannabis laws.

We sit down with key political figures like Carmen Wegge to understand the current Germany cannabis laws—what’s legal, what’s not, and where the future might lead.

No trip would be complete without experiencing Mary Jane Berlin 2024—Europe’s biggest cannabis event. Here, we meet patients, advocates, and brands driving the movement forward.

Cannabis is back in the hands of the people in Germany, but is it working? Should the world take a page from Germany’s new cannabis policy? This Germany cannabis documentary uncovers it all—seed to harvest.

Legal weed has been great for Massachusetts its been nearly decade since we voted to allow recreational use and sale. We still don’t have any on-site social marijuana consumption as the licensing and protocols surrounding that is still being worked out. We get a couple hundred million a year in tax revenue from it and it has removed a major profit center for criminal elements in our commonwealth.

Personally I couldn’t give a shit if someone smokes eats etc ol Mary Jane. Yet I see some dumb people still do dumb things whilst doing so. Yes I see dickheads doing the same whilst drinking alcohol !! So I get the whole medication side of this , but its really not.. Its capitalism on a different scale for university students simple. When the thc volumes drop for actual medication, and its thc remember, and I can actually drive a vehicle still without being drug tested and any pot knows the more you take the longer it takes to get out of your system, well perhaps you need to take a closer look ? Dunno im only a amateur that looks on with questions..

Dude, this is one of the best documentaries about the legalization and its result on the german society in a broad sense. Thank you so much for going to Humboldt University. Prof. Dr. Ulrichs research on sustainable agriculture will hopefully give us more insight on how to improve cannabis production.

…and may it’s all over after the next election in Feb. 25.

  18. @aaronmaloney8 on February 16, 2025 at 5:19 am

It’s still highly illegal in the uk, they say it has no medical benefit. And causes addiction and mental health problems… on the other hand we have alcohol the wife beater drug which has 0 medical benefits & kills you 😂

  19. @st.fiacre6685 on February 16, 2025 at 5:20 am

Growing Global generic strains. No more imported hash from Turkey and Afghanistan. lol

  20. @fhsvsoxifdv on February 16, 2025 at 5:22 am

To make it short… started with a great Idea and a was supposed to go in 2 Phases. Phase 1 was the 50g, Homegrow and smoking free zones. Phase 2 was to implement places where you can buy legal Dope. I don’t know any place and I don’t think there is any place where you can buy. So now we have a law wich supports the black market and maybe even pulls those Homegrowers in the black market too. They can’t sell or give there dope to other guys in a legal way.

  21. @tillwesenberg1178 on February 16, 2025 at 5:22 am

The legalization in Germany is a joke. It’s legal now, but there are no shops where you can buy it, so it actually only helps the dealers that sold it before. At least the criminalization of possession is over, so that’s a good thing.

  22. @Whatfreshhellisthisshit on February 16, 2025 at 5:30 am

  33. @rainerzufall2035 on February 16, 2025 at 5:37 am

Bavarian politics want hemp criminal again. Söder and merz hates cannabis. We are one foot in the prison with that low 3,5ng strict driving license regulation. It’s a emotional debate in Germany for years.

  34. @BananemitFahne on February 16, 2025 at 5:37 am

As a german i read the title and can answer this quick: No! The only thing is you cant get trubble for little possesion, the rest is german typical bureaucratic hell

  40. @Professionalminutestealer on February 16, 2025 at 5:48 am

What about concentrates? Can you have 50g concentrate? Wouldnt be bad to concentrate all flowers! That way you can perserve the terps for as long as possible and in a smaller package!

They legalized it wrong, completely wrong, let us grow as much as we want and open coffe shops , it would make Germany number 1 for weed in the world probably but noo , 50g max 💀💀 ass german logic for 90% of people that smoke nothing changes, they still buy illegaly and won’t invest thousands into a growbox to grow a few grams 🤣🤣
