This is something I’ve been wanting to express for a long time. Since hearing both Sonic and Knuckles’ stories something just had me knowing that something was not fitting with this. The question was: who killed off who and how? From what Sonic and Knuckles seem to say and what the movies are trying to show is that both the Echidnas and Longclaw died but there would have to be some kind of huge explanation for how they both died cause thats not realistically how fights work out. It can’t just say like "oh the both killed off each other somehow." There has to be more then this.
I think Longclaw likely died taking down Knuckles’s tribe in battle

True there are multiple ways longclaw could have survived. But there are also many reasons why she could have died.
1. The simple answer and the one that most likely happened was that longclaw defeated all the echidna worriers, but died as a result of the battle, it can happen in movies when you defeat an enemy but don’t survive ether.
2. Longclaw mentioned in the holographic message in sonic 2 that if he is seeing the message than something happened to her, meaning that she could have possibly survived the battle, but was killed of by … something or someone else at some point, maybe that villain could reveal themselves and sonic will find out they killed longclaw and he gets mad.
3. She kind of has do be dead because I don’t see them fitting in a whole convoluted storyline where she returns, it seems a bit unnecessary, especially since I think sonic has finally moved on from hoping she is alive. Her last appearance was sonic 2 and she was briefly mentioned in sonic 3 but that’s it I think. I’m sure that they don’t want to cram her in when so many other sonic characters need to show up, it would be a waste if she is alive but never seen again.
I kinda want Long Claw to NOT BE SO INNOCENT. I kinda want the owls to somewhat be like Greek gods where their powerful and I guess their actions are for the greater good but they have no crimes about using their powerful personal and selfish gains.

Longclaws death is part of Sonic’s character development, if Longclaw came back, that throw it all out the window….and a part of his motivation would vanish…
I believe that Longclaw and the echidnas killed each other at the same time leaving them both dead
It makes sense that she defeated them but she succumbed to her injuries and died after
A part of me wants her to be alive, but at the same time, if she’s alive and meets up with Sonic after all this time, it could reverse his motivation for staying true to her memory.
Knowing that she was alive but didn’t do anything to get back (or at least didn’t have a choice) could send Sonic into a downward spiral!
It definitely would help us relate to him, but I don’t think this would be best…

in the second movie when sonic opens the map leading to the master emerald, a holographic messsage of longclaw came out and said something along the lines of "if you are seeing this, i am dead."
I believe that sonic 4 will most likely be inspired from sonic cd..and he could travel back in time and realize that longclaw is still alive in that time and meet her
It would be cool but at the same time it would be hard to add that in cause he would have to choose between her and Tom and Maddie and with all the action going on in the fourth I highly doubt they’d put that in it

If she’s alive she has a second reason why she’s still enduring because she wants to find a solution to bring back her kind back from Extinction
Maybe Longclaw might have survived the echidna tribe and hid somewhere far away from them and sent Amy to help Sonic fight more dangerous threats
