I got into cracking my knuckles like almost 2 years ago, and i love doing it! It gives me more mobility i think and it is such a relief.
My mom always yells at me or hits me when i do it.. But i just cant stop, i think its an addiction 😭
I think i heard people talk about how its not actually harmful than people saying that it was, actually, i dont think i ever heard anyone say that. Is this really a common misconception or are we overcorrecting now 🤔
I can’t NOT STAND this sound….i broke my entire arm, fingers all the way to my shoulder at a young age. I remember what it sounded like and everytime I hear someone cracking their knuckles it reminds me of that.
I can crack my neck really loudly just like my knuckles, and people in my class always get so scared. I tell them it doesn’t hurt, and it honestly feels good to relieve the stiffness in my neck. I wonder if that has any consequences, if cracking your knuckles doesn’t.

It might be annoying for them but it’s more annoying being told by everyone and their mother this misinformation because they don’t know how to not care about this "annoyance". It’s not a very loud sound that it can’t be ignored, because it very easily can be, and when is the last time you remember being annoyed by someone cracking their knuckles versus by someone telling you not to crack them.
Cracking your neck too hard, however, can make the muscles in it loosely goosey. Which can make you more susceptible to whiplash, in say, car accidents.
I remember being in an exam hall of about 200 students and when one person cracked their knuckles, it started a wave across the room. The sound normally doesn’t bother me, but that day I was horrified.
Some people, like myself, can develop an incredibly bad habit of cracking their knuckles at a young age, to the point where every single time your hands aren’t doing something, you’re popping them. I’ve only been popping my knuckles for about five years, and I pop every single joint in every single way possible at least thirty times a day. To this extent, yes. Yes it does lead to arthritis. Yes, it very much hurts.
You *CAN* still get arthritis from cracking your knuckles, but it depends how. If you pull, twist, or stretch your fingers, you will be fine. But if you crush, you have a chance of getting arthritis. You can crack your fingers but just don’t crush them.

My dad said this to me too. He never cracked his knuckles but had arthritis since his 30s. Now I’m in my 30s, been crack my knuckles, wrists, back, neck, toes, hips, ankles and sternum. Feels good every time

Maybe it isn’t "bad" for you, but I did get hella pain after doing it for years. I’m glad I stopped.

If he cracked his other hand after 60 years that would be more satisfying than popping a football field of bubble wrap

Why is the sound so heavy though?
It hurts cracking my fingers😅

When I crack my joints it makes them feel less stiff
I just tell them "That’s a problem for future me"
Cool **bends fingers backwards until the back of my finger meets the back of my hand**

Annoying for those around me ? People soft asf
Fun fact: a man wanted to test this so he only cracked his right hand for 60 years and then had a x- ray and there was no difference.
