Suspects steal 16 lbs. of cannabis before gunfire erupts in Florida

Surveillance video captures the moment six people collaborated to steal 16 pounds of cannabis, eventually leading to a shooting with injuries.

The Orlando Police Department (OPD) said its officers responded to a shooting on February 4, around 2 a.m., at a parking garage at 480 N Orange Ave.

Witnesses reported seeing a white Hyundai Tucson fleeing the scene. Officers were able to find and detain the driver, Kelly Mala, and after a foot pursuit, arrested Bahanni Haywood and D’Jon Heyliger.

The OPD said Haywood was found in possession of a 9mm magazine and a black mask. The ammunition matched casings found at the scene. Police said video evidence revealed the suspects stealing 16 pounds of cannabis from a group, with someone in the Hyundai firing a handgun.
