In addition to alcohol, I don’t understand why cigarettes are legal either?? Cigarettes are so so so harmful and yet weed is illegal? You can go to the store and buy alcohol and cigarettes, things that could end up killing you, but if you put a seed in the ground and grow a plant that’s not killed anyone you’re now a criminal??? Why am I allowed to destroy my health and put others in danger by drinking alcohol, and damage every aspect of my body with cigarettes, but I can’t use marijuana to relax? Oh it’s dangerous because it can possibly make you paranoid or psychotic. And alcohol can’t? A lot of people in these comments have mentioned how being high makes them want to be friends with everyone, but being drunk makes them want to have a fight with everyone. When I think about which is more dangerous, alcohol, cigarettes, or marijuana, I have no clue why anyone would put marijuana first.
Knowing Americans abuse is going to happen. If Americans didn’t have a history of massive abuse of controlled substances I’d agree with you that legalizing marijuana would be better. For this reason I dont. however I do think that the punishment surrounding marijuana is too harsh and too skewed against the black community.
If ever drug was legal like alcohol I’m sure alcohol would not have anywhere near as many deaths as other drugs

A schedule 1 drug just means that the drug shouldn’t be prescribed for medicinal use, not that it’s less dangerous. Pain killers have clear medicinal use, but no one’s saying that they aren’t also incredibly dangerous.
I definitely agree with legalizing marijuana, but you don’t need to present inaccurate information to do it.
