While reading the voluminous posts from Deadbeat Debbie Cooper where she is crying out for attention, please keep her condition in mind. She is peaking today, so be gentle.

Histrionic personality disorder (HPD) is a mental condition where people act in a dramatic and emotional way to get attention. People with HPD have an overwhelming desire to be noticed and often behave inappropriately to get attention. They may display the following characteristics:

Being uncomfortable when not the center of attention
Displaying inappropriate seductive or sexually provocative behavior
    Being flirtatious, seductive, or charming
    Being manipulative
    Using appearance to draw attention
    Impressionistic and vague speech
    Dramatic or exaggerated emotions
    Being easily influenced by others
Considering relationships more intimate than they are
People with HPD may also display rapid shifts of dramatic emotions. They may also have shifting and shallow emotions.
HPD has some similarities to narcissism, but also distinct differences. People with HPD may use theatrics, emotions, and sexuality, which stands in stark contrast from the cold and egotistical narcissist. However, many of the hallmarks overlap.
