Both. Seeing that I live in the Northeast. I grow inside in the winter to see what I want to grow outside. The weather gets swirly come the beginning of October.
Indoor, unless u have a green house but you still gotta perform a bud wash.

I got a question for anyone to answer. Can i grow indoor during the veg. Then put outside for the bloom? Or would that shock and kill the plant?
Ya well it is illegal to grow in my knuckle dragging state so I am suggesting indoors in similar locations.

You can grow indoor even in winter, you can grow outdoor but anybody steal it at any moment and it is a massive pain in the ass…

What i do. (GUERILLA)
Grow autos indoors for your personal smoke (they yield less but you can grow multiple and they flower half the time and you can grow them with extreme care) and then have a photo grow outdoors every single time of year you can.. (if youre like me and doing it discreetly then youll have to put time and thought into water, security, pests, etc also you probably wont get to tend to them every day so youll have to give up some things such as seeing them every day and certain or all trimming/training.
If youre not guerilla chances are youll be able to grow bigger and better plants outdoor as well
I’m growing my plants from seed to near end of vegetation and I’m building a little easy greenhouse for the upcoming hot weather😊
Outdoors for about 30 years and while I have modernized a great deal, I still haven’t tried an indoor grow. Both Auto-flower and feminized seed, mostly organic fertilizer (I have chickens and rabbits) and well water. I still do my homework and try new methods but none indoors except for a few greenhouse grows.
Here in Italy outdoors it is really difficult to find a well-hidden place to do it… 🤔

You still have to watch out for pests indoors and if you fet pests indoors its usually really bad.
