"tough on drugs" is one of the last things that the conservative party has to make them seem conservative

If this was taxed at 20% corp rates, and then 20% VAT the government would have made £52 million.

  11. @liam6345 on July 3, 2025 at 1:09 pm

Think of all that medicine they just destroyed. Think of all the people that could have used that medicine to improve their quality of life, then ask yourself… why is the UK stuck in the stone age, we look old and tired compared to the rest of the world. We look stupid and weak.

Even the Germans are smarter than us.

  12. @d6o6n6g on July 3, 2025 at 1:11 pm

Dont worry, there are plenty more growers to fill the gap!

  15. @notyourordinarygran on July 3, 2025 at 1:14 pm

Bloody waste of money. Legalized and tax it. You will never stop people using it so you may as well have the tax from it. And people then won’t be forced to deal with criminals.

  16. @ornamejesus777 on July 3, 2025 at 1:20 pm

  19. @idiosyncraticblog on July 3, 2025 at 1:24 pm

Hat a waste of money, legalise drugs and pursue offences against the person.

  20. @felixroberts5428 on July 3, 2025 at 1:25 pm

These raids tend to be people who are organised crime groups rather than personal use.

  21. @leet3207 on July 3, 2025 at 1:25 pm

A few years ago in the UK they did a study if they legalised cannabis and taxed it and it was estimated that it would drum up enough tax to cover the NHS and some of the police and fire and rescue.

  22. @steveo4991 on July 3, 2025 at 1:26 pm

Did they raid their own factory in Kent? One of the biggest exporters of cannabis worldwide? No? Didn’t think so.

Nice to see the police do something useful for a change outside of letting groomers go and arresting people for mean tweets. /s

  23. @davidadiwego4608 on July 3, 2025 at 1:26 pm

pathetic. plenty of decent, well-functioning people enjoy a smoke.

  24. @proffessorclueless on July 3, 2025 at 1:27 pm

Great news, the war on drugs is over. The end of all drug addiction just around the corner. Surely now is the time to make nicotine a class A drug, so that the Government stops profiteering from something that causes so many deaths every year.

  38. @unknown-nw2dp on July 3, 2025 at 1:44 pm

the amount of theft and robbery that happens and goes unpunished and unsolved on the streets and in the pubs of London is insane.. and the city has the police chasing and arresting botanists. for growing plants! years from now they’ll make comedy films and shows of this
