New Mexico Marijuana Laws for Home Cultivation and Medical Use in 2021

New Mexico is one of the three states that moved to legalize recreational marijuana a few months ago

The state’s medical marijuana cultivation limits are surprisingly generous.

* Qualified patients and their designated caregivers may grow up to 16 cannabis plants, with up to 4 mature plants at a given time.

*The law also allows up to two individuals with a Personal Production License to grow at the same location or household.

* Keep in mind that you should never grow anywhere within a drug-free zone.

So the PPLs are actually gone now, and everyone is given the same grow limits as the CRA allows adults 21 and over. But that was the correct plant Counts before the law changed. Also there’s actually no law on where the plants have to be grown, that was the old medical cannabis law. It’s weird because they changed stuff, and now the CCD is in charge of the medical cannabis program except for cards, the DoH does that. But you can grow a plant in your front lawn if you’d like, I really wouldn’t, but it’s not illegal. We pushed hard to get rid of the PPL and just allow everyone the right to grow anywhere on their property. Otherwise some decent info, if you ever need the most updated info on NM let me know. 🤙🏽 much love from NM!
