Topping dampens quality, it’s bet tree r to just train your plants right and make sure they get lots of light and air trust
My plants are spreading out just fine without topping them. This year I have six and bring them in each night after roasting in the Colorado sun all day. I use tuna water and crushed egg shells and they’re very verdant already. I’ve topped many plants and it works well, but not always necessary plus less stressors to my babies. Grow on, young sprouts. Reach for the sun. 🙂

Low stress training,combined with topping. If you bend your plant over in an arc and top just the new little growth, then the growth at the lower nods will shoot up giving you more even tops. Than the next time you top you can top 8 tops giving you 16 tops in less time.
I did it this time did one plant and check it out
But that is only on photo period don’t do it to an auto flower it will destroy the yield!

I was told to cut the 4th nodes from the top not the actual top so it will develop more is that true?
you can also just use wire to hold the lower stems down so they grow out a bit different, you can do every row like that and make it grow where ever you want and almost any form you’d want.
It works but I seen so many techequies unclear so I went with the most esteemed it works

A GREAT TIP for topping
1) sterilize your snips first
2) use honey on a q-tip and dab the cut area with the honey to lock that cut up
3) dont LST(light stress train) for at least 5 days after this HST (HIGH stress training) this allows the plant to recover from the initial shock.

For outside grow I like to let them at least go to 10-12 nodes and then top and after 2 weeks of heal I will top one or 2 more times depending on veg stage and holy they get huge and beautiful.
Each branch will become a cola if you just wait and tip the whole plant over. It has to be thin and bendable still though. That way every branch will become a cola not just 3. You need a net for this.
Fimming is my favorite.

I’ve tried it several times side by side and the untopped plant yields more
but topping does not give you bigger yield what so ever, it just makes better use of your grow space, making them bushier and even..

didnt worked for me at all, and yes i know what im doing, i just ended up with 2 high tops …. i was hoping for even canapie but instead of 1 big colar i got 2 … doesnt help the purpose if u wanna spread canapie.
