Cannabis farms increasingly being found in rented properties, police say

Police say they are finding increasing numbers of cannabis farms in rented properties, making it harder to find the organised crime gangs responsible.

Sky News spoke with the chief executive of the British Landlords Association, who has also fallen victim.

He told us it was “horrific” when he entered his property to find it had been used to grow the drug.

Why is cannabis illegal in the UK and not in Canada where its legally bought even with king charles on its currency. Be interesting how much the Royal family make from cannabis tax in Canada

We all know it should be legal if your growing for yourself and ya mate’s. But alot of these people are being paid to rent a room to grow them. If the government didn’t make it so hard for uk residents they wouldn’t have to do it.

Let people grow their own recreational cannabis. 2-4 plants 🙏 the govt sells it as medicine and the UK is the largest exporter in cannabis? How when they say its illegal? Only the govt can sell it on massive scales, not the people, the govt don’t get their tax!!

Cannabis 🪴🌿 has been Legalised in Germany 🇩🇪 Canada 🇨🇦

  23. @BenPsOhYeah on September 6, 2025 at 4:13 pm

What a shameless waste of resources.

  24. @thedcsoundproject on September 6, 2025 at 4:15 pm

    Legalize it.

We all know cannabis is far less harmful than many legal substances, like alcohol. Beyond that, it has clear medical benefits for people suffering from chronic pain, Parkinson’s disease, and other serious conditions.

How much money do police spend enforcing laws against a relatively harmless plant? Legalizing cannabis would free up valuable law enforcement resources to focus on more serious crimes.

If it were legal, corporations could enter the market, encouraging competition and driving prices down. This would reduce the incentive to grow cannabis illegally in homes, and it would cut criminals out of a major income stream.

    It’s a win-win.

Sky on the spot…. 15years late.

  26. @NoelEdmonds666 on September 6, 2025 at 4:18 pm

This is so factually inaccurate it’s hilarious. Criminalise electricity.

  27. @Zerouali on September 6, 2025 at 4:21 pm

Just legalise it. It’s harmless and needs to be regulated. Someone is profiting hugely from the criminalisation of this herb.

  28. @IlSinistero on September 6, 2025 at 4:22 pm

Legalize it and the police can focus on real crime…

  29. @Marcusfoodie on September 6, 2025 at 4:23 pm

    British police = s

  30. @jrh86 on September 6, 2025 at 4:26 pm

All the landlords or part of it.

  31. @chrisgermann6658 on September 6, 2025 at 4:29 pm

Sky News really trying hard to use the death of a young boy to further demonize a plant that is less of a hazard than Alcohol. The UK is decades behind on this and should look to European countries on how Cannabis can be regulated. The police state war on drugs has failed.

  32. @craptacular8282 on September 6, 2025 at 4:30 pm

I reckon their rent should be confiscated from the landlord as proceeds of crime.

  33. @lad4702 on September 6, 2025 at 4:30 pm

So what? THAT PLANTS THE LARGEST LEGAL EXPORT FROM THE UK 🤨

  34. @ShortandSons on September 6, 2025 at 4:36 pm

Of course it is, it always has been.

  35. @itiswhatitis141 on September 6, 2025 at 4:39 pm

why do UK cannabis bust videos feel like its 1998

  36. @EUistheFourthReich on September 6, 2025 at 4:40 pm

The police waging war on a plant, I’d rather they concentrate on real crimes

  37. @rinkadink66 on September 6, 2025 at 4:41 pm

    higher penalties?

  38. @BrainUser113 on September 6, 2025 at 4:41 pm

Small timers 😂. Apart from stealing electricity what else have they done wrong? I dont see any suffering or risk to human life here, the bypass was done safely based on what they said about it, so what justification do they have other than a stupid medievel law saying its illegal. People aint stupid, and this is why there is no respect for the laws, they are not based upon anything real or scientific
