BCI Marijuana Eradication

Each year, BCI agents help local law enforcement officers spot marijuana grows with the help of a helicopter between April and October, when growers typically plant and later harvest the drugs.

Experts at BCI estimate that a fully mature marijuana plant can be worth between $1,000 and $1,500 once processed and sold on the streets. Higher quality plants can fetch up to $2,000.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation, known as BCI, is the Ohio’s official crime lab serving the criminal justice community and protecting Ohio families. BCI also provides expert criminal investigative services to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies upon request. With offices throughout the state, BCI stands ready to respond 24/7 to local law enforcement agencies’ needs, all free of charge.

Operational cost of the Bell Jet Ranger is $4,600 an hour. This of course is minus the pilot. That is a six figure salary.ย  If you have an individual hanging out the door on a rope, add an additional $165,000 to that bottom line.

  7. carma on January 11, 2021 at 12:29 am

These jokers are brainwashed to believe they are performing some kind of public service. The banksters on wall streets are stealing TRILLIONS of dollar from the people with impunity, while these dummies are going after people that grow a weed. Wall street and pot is a classic example of the government making a crime legal and some thing that isn’t a crime illegal. Time to walk like Icelanders and get rid of the corrupted government.

the demand is so high. soccer moms and your teachers at school buy it. so instead of growing it locally we import it from mexico and give the cartels billions to ruin the country. this is why i wouldn’t want to be a cop.

This is ridiculous lol try to eradicate a plant? Have fun… It’s impossible. People will continue to grow no matter the effort put forth by law enforcement. They are fighting a loosing battle.

  22. John Roberts on January 11, 2021 at 12:50 am

LMFAO! It wasn’t in this video but I’ve seen one’s to where they airlift the weed out via chopper. They pile it up on the cargo nets and haul it down the mountain and all the while the chopper blades are scattering seeds everywhere! Just like the Bee’s, Birds and the Wind do! How fucking smart is that? Maybe they figured it out and that’s why it’s not in this video? They can do what ever they want with what they can find because I WILL STILL HAVE MINE ๐Ÿ™‚

The state creates the criminal elements attached to marijuana by making it illegal. They created the problem themselves. They created the dangerous black market. They get lots of tax-funded toys to destroy lives over a natural plant. But keep the booze flowin boys!

  24. cbr1000rrSP Rider on January 11, 2021 at 12:53 am

Do outdoor plants give off any heat signature or they just looking visually from the helicopter all the time

they need to go after the Mexican cartels that our government lets through the gates. not the hillbillies in Southern Ohio who were often Patriots and veterans

  26. A W on January 11, 2021 at 12:58 am

Disgusting waste of money . Drones can do just as good of a job without detection at a fraction of the cost of helicopters with the military and law enforcement package, fuel, pilot and copilot etc.
But at this point we should definitely legalize recreational and medical marijuana at the federal level and tax it just like Alcohol. Along with growing pot just like any other farmed crops or backyard gardens or greenhouses. The only thing that a pothead is a threat to is the couch and food. Its disgusting how the mandatory minimum sentences for drugs are longer than most other crimes and violent crimes. That just does not make sense and disgusting.
As for the other drugs go I think that if they are legalized it would also remove the criminal elements, the violence and crimes that are committed by addicts trying to get money for drugs would also disappear. But the major benefit would be less people overdosing because they used dope cut with Fentanyl or worse Carfentanyl or god only knows what else is going to be used to cut the next load of dope to hit the market. While I don’t agree with the other drugs. I do see the benefit of legalizing recreational use. Even if only one life was saved each day its better than the opiate epidemic that we have now. Even though these drugs are dangerous its better for the public to legalize them tax them and establish several different strengths and standardized them so that every batch is the same no matter where it is purchased. It is going to save many lives and taxes can cover the cost of rehab and detox for anyone who wants to get off the dope.
While I don’t agree with using any drugs that can be lethal if too much dope is taken at once. I know that theirs many reasons people use these types of drugs. Thats their choice but no high is worth dying for. But I do support doing whatever is possible to save lives. When the drug is commercially available the dope will be cut with substances that are inert and safe to ingest. Instead of being cut with other synthetic opiates and other substances that make the dope have a stronger more euphoric high, more addictive but cause the user is overdose.
Taxing the drugs could also fund free narcan for anyone that uses opiates or lives with somebody who is using opiates. I also think that for people who are perscribed opiates should also be required to keep several doses of narcan available at all times with at least one dose on their person at all times when taking prescription drugs.
I am all for saving lives and support individuals right to make their own decisions such as using drugs such as opioids and other drugs. But as a country we need to do whatever we can to make it safer for the addicts using the lethal dope.
While with pot most adults these days have smoked pot at some point in their life. Because of that we know that weed is relatively harmless and not a threat to anyone or anything besides food . Granted that some people might be allergic and may have some issues but thats it. In fact pot is a better choice than Alcohol. Alcohol cause far more problems and health issues than pot. The only health issue would obviously be that our lungs are not made to breathe in smoke and we know that tobacco smoke can cause breathing and other lung issues. But we don’t know what can happen because we have not done any credible long term studies on smoking marijuana instead of other methods of ingesting marijuana such as eating it in food such as brownies or brewing it into a tea is known to be a completely different high from smoking and is a longer high . Also legalized marijuana would also make things safer for neighbors since people would not be as likely to be making hashish, Butane Hash Oil or BHO at home and doing something stupid like smoking a cigarette while working with the Butane or Acetone while making hash oil or dabs and blowing up their own home and neighborhood since they can just buy it at the store premade and without the work or risk of explosion . Not to mention that as a medicine marijuana can provide relief for many different conditions and illnesses. Without the side effects and health risks associated with many prescription medications that we see on tv alll the time. God knows many side effects and health risks are worse than the condition they are treating.
    Just my 2 cents.
