Maximizing Cannabis Yields with Dr Bruce Bugbee
Maximizing Cannabis Yields with Dr Bruce Bugbee
Dr. Bruce Bugbee gives a game-changing master class for cannabis growers on optimizing cardinal growth parameters to maximize yields (see below for time-stamps of topics). In the video he gives very specific recommendations for light levels, photo-periods, temperature, media, nutrients, humidity, and more. Bruce is a world-renowned professor and researcher at Utah State University’s Crop Physiology Lab, an ASA Fellow, president of Apogee Instruments, and is known for his extensive work with NASA plant growth systems. Bruce’s lab at USU received a license to research medical hemp in 2018 and has been conducting high-level research on strains and optimal cultivation methods to maximize CBD yields in hemp flower buds.

How do you do you feed nutrients on a closed water system?
I don’t need Science to grow high-quality marijuana
Don’t tell this to the Climate Change Disciples. Their religion says that we should starve the plants of CO2 even though they make more oxygen for us to breathe and the increase in CO2 in the atmosphere is well-documented as having a beneficial effect on plant growth around the world. Look at a satellite image from today and then look at 1 from 1970 and you clearly see that the planet is Greening which is great. The coral Reefs that were dying in the 90s are making a comeback because of the additional carbon in the ocean as well.
Q
I prefer hydroponics grow system
Best anti spider?. Thanks
Bruce I watch this several times but I’m aiming for 5-40-40 in bloom with 0-46-0 all 3 are 46 npk
Millesemens😂😂 I have lots of millisemens!!!!!
I’d like to try gypsum in the soil, but I can only find it in powder. Anyone knows if that could work, and if it’d be the same proportions? thanks!!
In my lifetime weed has gone from public enemy number 1 to Harvey Firestein teaching how to grow at a university.
Bruce what’s the best 20 10 20 to purchase buddy I can’t find to be able to find those numbers off the shelf
I trust this bloodshot eyes
Speed up to 1.25x
You’re welcome
I have your formula at 3.2 g per gallon for 20 no issues but I think I can pump more and was told pump them up high. Just want to make sure math is right. All the formulas point to acres I need per gallom
Dr. Bruce Bugbee, you are a legend
This is so good
huh???
😂 wowzers…. PATREON/KOMATHEGROWER if you want to learn from an actual grower of this plant lol
experiments for soil that has shown a result of a reaction
I want to better the product.
By turning it into powdered form. To add to soil from cleaned hair, hair has a unique reaction with the roots. I believe hair has properties that benefit to the roots. But I do suggest turning it into nano dust and then I believe the plant will show strengthen exterior .
……………………????things I want to turn to powder, or a dried powder.
Eggshell, hair, fish blood,
I have used this formula on pepper, tomato and other vegetables. and it works. THANKS FOR SHARING YOU’RE KNOWLEDGE
Been six months since my last comment sure helped a lot watching your videos well thanks again
Accurate data with specific amounts for each parameter. If you fail following this you did something wrong. Never seen a more perfect how to video. My only question is if micro-mols can just be represented as wattage. Then it’d be easier to figure out the dli.
So can you use 20-10-20 for the entire grow or is that just for veg
Mr Professor – if we increase to 1500 micromoles per square meter/s than 1500 micromoles will give us 64.8 DLI per square meter per/day not second. RIGHT ?
Please leave a feedback. I have nightmares :))
that’s not enough lime. I did this 40 grams of dolo lime in the 7 gallon pot (even less than a cubic foot) and my pH pour through was 5.1. Maybe 40 grams per sqaure ft?
As an LED equipment designer, I need to tell you that in the performance of LED lamps, the effect of light is indeed very important. However, in the mature LED chip manufacturers, the good performance of a good LED growth lamp needs a very good industrial design. Good industrial design should adhere to the goal of controlling cost and achieving the best effect. Combining cost and effect demand is a good LED that users should pursue to bring the best economic benefit to marijuana growers. Those who just want the best lighting don’t have the real needs of the users. I mean our light is not expensive but pretty good.
Great vid. U r extremely intelligent

Recommended in my feed…dog with back legs chopped off dumped in the street and (alleged) graphic footage of atrocities in China (mutilation etc) BUT …at the grand old age of 61…YT decides I have to provide ID to view this decadent channel. Google you are pathetic.
Heads up guys on your channel, I watch you elsewhere. Keep up the good work.
If i dont have Vermiculite how mutch dolomites lime and gypse i need per cu/f to balance ph ? Thx !
Was waiting for a spitball to peg him in the back of the head.. lol. Back to school! Good stuff sir!
Is the same soil medium used during veg?
Ei posso p9r ver no meu jardim entao?
lime is dolomitic? or are they different things? someone knows? And which of the two does it use if it is different or does it use both?
So, it seems to me that you can measure PPM (or other units of measurement) using the runoff of the plant. However this is only practical in soil based systems. How do I do this in let’s say a DWC system, or equivalent? I’m assuming you measure initial PPMs against daily end of day PPMs. So if you start off with let’s say 1200 PPM, and the consumption rate of let’s say 300 daily, the you would assume replacing water before it reaches the 10% margin of 120 before the plant starts to struggle? I’m sure there is some sort of variations so I’m genuinely curious on what other people have for input.
Lost me at 5:48
Thank you sir
thank you doc <3
👌🌿💯
Detroit Michigan 48221. Thank you very much. I sub, liked and commented : Video paid for.
Have you measured runoff to monitor nutrient usage? All of my research has pointed to a much higher ( 1200 – 1500 ppm / +/- 2.6 EC ) nutrient requirement and more importantly tolerance in the reproductive stage. If we are maximizing lighting shouldn’t there be a need for increased nutrients?
couple of questions, how much light can you push in flower? you said 14 hours… whats the max? also would you say lux converter to micro mol is ball park reliable? i have lux meter, with internet conversaion to 1500 was 52000lux, is there a way besides buying the microM equipment?
Isn’t it "interval" not "integral"?
Yes sir you’re the man been growing 50 plus years and I sure don’t know what all never will I work with a 10 x 12 Bloom room still HPS get full bloom want to convert to LED but I don’t know just bought a new LED for the veg room 8 by 10 thanks again my growing friend
A question about the slow release nutricote pellets in the soil. How much per Cubic foot? If I missed that sorry. Thank you and a great job! From one Professor (34 + Years now) to another.
Whats the best reciepe for big yieilds
he has a ton of knowledge on grow light spectrums and so so much more. on MIGRO’s channel they did good vid with Dr Bruce
NPK 20-10-20 for whole cycle? No matter veg or bloom?
my favorite youtuber
Excellent Lecture A+!!
Amazing information! Thank you Dr. Bugbee!
