There’s way too much competition in the cannabis space, even at this point. I’ve long said there will be few survivors and even fewer winners in the space. This is oversimplifying things, but I see a Coke/Pepsi sort of situation. There will be 2 huge winners in the space with some that do well and a whole bunch that disappear altogether. Branding and distribution is going to be very important. That’s why I think Canopy with Constellation Brands backing is the safest investment at this point, while they admittedly don’t have the most upside. TBD who else pulls away from the pack, but Cronos and Curaleaf have a decent chance along with a few others. I like your IIPR idea as well, but likely won’t buy because I only buy REITs for my IRA (due to tax reasons) and I can’t see putting a cannabis stock in my IRA. Maybe that’s bad thinking on my part.
Most cannabis stocks are un-investable IMO, which is why I’m not a fan of Cannabis ETFs. I know that’s likely an unpopular opinion with most. Definitely unpopular with you Andy. 🙂
Full disclosure – I’m long CGC shares with a cost basis in the lower $20’s.
SGMD is the ticker for a cannabis stock under a penny. .0014 – .0016 that is 6-7 shares for one cent. I have 4 million shares you should buy before the run up, just my opinion.
