It is tragic that people forgot how to grow cannabis and now defend this crap like big pharma defends their chemical cocktails.     I think the average rule to go by is 2000-7000 lumens per plant, 2000 being on the lower scale and 7000 being higher. Also, CFL’s or LED lights work best for plants. This video really complicated the lighting stuff, and the huge lights he talked about are expensive and not useful for small grows
