Pruning Marijuana and Distribution of Sugars

Don’t prune full grown marijuana leaves because they produce the sugars to grow buds. More info http://www.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/distribution-sugars-within-marijuana-plant/

The diagram is incorrect in one way. It suggests that the roots of the plant take in CO2, and excrete O2. That is true of the foliage, but roots are the opposite. They take in O2, and excrete CO2 just like us. This is a core principle in hydro/aquaponics.

This time i happened to grow just like he says,, the plant is 4’wide and 5’tall already,, growing like mad (outdoors). It is 6/29– these are going to be monster plants… I also started watering as far out as leaves reach.. and it helps a lot.. Indoor growing sucks,, but not everyone has a place to grow outdoors,,, no special anytings needed…,,

SO WHY NOT JUST LEAVE IT TO THE PLANT?

  7. Kaenan Greene on April 15, 2019 at 9:33 pm

That website is bullshit! I ordered over $200 in seeds, they took the money and didn’t deliver! They said there was something wrong with the card but I call bullshit because the money was taken out!

The big fan leaf at 3:45. It has a mosiac pattern to it. What causes that in a healthy plant?

  9. mightymeatmonsta on April 15, 2019 at 9:36 pm

I don’t know about that, Robert. I removed ALL of the fan leaves (I smoked them and actually DID get high from them because one of my plants is a third-generation blueberry plant), and I would give them raspberry syrup during the growing cycle, along with honey and blackstrap molasses. They LOVED it! I also loved the fact that the stems and leaves turned RED, and even after I stopped giving them raspberry syrup, the leaves and stems still turned red (and they STILL ARE!)! i would recommend giving them all three during the entire growth cycle, then you can cut out the raspberry syrup and just use blackstrap molasses and honey, which help good bacteria in the soil break down the nutrients and the honey has micro nutrients that are also good for the plant(s). And here is a little trick I am using to get MORE bud for my money. I use a terpene mix of mangoes (which help the plant produce more smell and flavor, and also allow the cannabinoid receptors in the brain use MORE of the THC. This means, although it DOESN’T increase potency, it DOES allow your body to use more of the thc in the plant ( It activates the cannabinoid receptors in the brain to receive MORE of the thc) , allowing you to get HIGHER on the SAME amount of smoke. Along with that, I use pine branches and needles and rosemary (for memory), as well as ginger (as an anti-cancer and antioxidant agent), cinnamon (as an anti-inflammatory agent), as well as mint (for your lungs), and green and black teas, which are also antioxidants. I also add about a couple of tablespoons of blackstrap molasses and honey as well, to thicken up the buds. There are many different combinations that can be used, depending on what you want from the plant that is missing. I put the mixture into two socks (which makes it easy so you don’t have to use a strainer) into a pot large enough to handle at LEAST three quarts) and boil for about 2 to three hours. Then I add about a tablespoon of baking soda, which brings it within the proper ph range. I check it (of course) to make sure. Then, I use a spray bottle, fill it about 3/4 of the way with the mix, add water to the top, and add a LIGHT nitrogen mix (2-0-0), one capful only, which helps stimulate growth in the buds! Spray the WHOLE BUD top to bottom, and this will make the buds grow! I noticed that as soon as I sprayed them, the next day, they grew about half an inch! You can keep spraying them with this mixture until the final two weeks. Then you just use the terpene mix the final two weeks (along with a good bloom fertilizer, like beastie bloom, which is 0-50-30), to thicken them up! With this method, you can EASILY get a couple of extra inches out of the plants, which could add up to anywhere from 1/4 to over 1/2 an ounce extra of high-quality smoke. The last day before harvesting, you can spray the buds with clean water, as well as use clean ice water with blackstrap molasses one final time. This will help give the plants one final push to produce trichomes and will give you the best possible smoke you can get. Make sure this is done EARLY in the morning, with the doors open and air circulating around the plant so it dries completely. I use a small closet (2×3 ft) and leave the doors open with the air conditioner on, so I am assured that the plants will dry (usually within a couple of hours) completely so there will be no fungus growth.

Exactly the type of video i was looking for. Thank you

Bro there’s THC all over my leaves and the plants only 3 weeks old. I took a picture of the leaf and it was all sparkley. I smoke that shit in a spliff and got high as fuck… I don’t know why people say the leaf is nasty… Like isn’t it just as much as the plant as much as the bud is? Of coarse unless you fill it up with chemicals. Trust me the leaf had more CBD

  15. Newby GreenThumb on April 15, 2019 at 9:41 pm

Unless you are giving a sugar additive, i.e. honey or molasses. By removing fan leaves and water leaves, you remobilize carbon and nitrogen reserves and results in a full source sink relationship between root and canopy. I trim all the way through vegetative. I do so because I trust Texas A&M and their many synopsis that have been written in regards to agricultural science.

  16. Barry Lyndon on April 15, 2019 at 9:42 pm

You mention "sugars" ad nauseum. Other than glucose from photosynthesis, to what other sugars do you refer? Thank you.

So I cut off my fan leaves. What’s gonna happen.

  26. Johnnny C Boyle on April 15, 2019 at 10:17 pm

sorry if this sounds stupid. what about wrapping the fan leaves in something like tinfoil? will that cause the plant to suck the sugars from that leaf?

Damn just cut off three big fan leaves before watching this

Great video. Very interesting points being made, in one of the busiest growing debates – to keep or to remove fan leaves.
