Forget that there was CHLOROFORM in the medicine. Ya know, the stuff you put on a napkin and suffocate someone with? The REEEAL lunacy is the cannabis!

You must remember that before the 1930’s it was not called "Marijuana"…this term was adopted by the govt. after Randolf Hearst, a mighty newspaper tycoon and the exclusive owner of the countries papermills, led an extensive anti "Cannabis / Hemp" campaign because hemp threatened his papermill monopoly. This campaign led to the adoption of the term "Marijuana" which was a mexican tobacco leaf smoked by locals and was reported to make people go insane and become homicidal after smoking it. This campaign was hugely successful at demonizing cannabis and led directly to its ban by the federal govt.
Before this slanderous campaign on cannabis, this plant had been used for thousands of years as a highly powerful medicinal plant that held hundreds of medicinal qualities not to mention that hemp is the most versatile, and strongest plant in the textile industry and completely natural.
Its sad that most people do not know the extensive efforts that went into brain washing the public into thinking this was a dangerous drug and had NO useful purpose. Thankfully, with the internet people are educating themselves and the tied is turning. Happy 420.
