Virginia Cannabis Licenses Timelines & Social Equity

Virginia Cannabis Licenses Timelines & Social Equity

On April 7- HB 2312 and SB 1406 were voted to be approved after Gov. Ralph Northam requested amendments from the legislature.

This bill will replace cannabis prohibition with a system to legalize, tax, and regulate cannabis for adults 21 and older.

But what does the new legislation establish regarding the Virginia marijuana establishment licenses?

Did it say anything about transportation or distributor licenses?

I’d also like to hear more about how they define a seedling. Is there a difference in the definition between home growers and commercial? Where can I find more information on residential/home grower regulations?

LMAO an eighth of chronic in Va is about to run $80… Lord help us πŸ˜‚

  3. Johnny on October 24, 2021 at 10:20 am

From my research I see that it’s going to cost $70k just for the application/permit! Jesus!… And I see that applications are closed now. Not sure if that means it hasn’t opened yet or that it’s already been filled. I wonder if a dispensary could double as a cafe as well; serving a limited menu of food/drink options. Buy weed then chill out in a lounge area in the shop type of thing.

I own land (30+ acres) zoned for agriculture in southern VA. I have been convicted of two marijuana charges in VA but have never been convicted of a felony. I have great credit, assets, was born in VA, and lived here for 24 years straight (I moved away and then back). I am an IT professional (Systems engineer) with lots of experience in data management and security. I also have years of marijuana growing experience but all in smaller setups sub around 250sq feet running DWC pumped flow style systems, chemical nutrients (Mostly fox farm), LED and fluorescent lights with separate cooling for the res to keep water below 62, while the plant was in the mid to upper 70s.

I would very much like to get a growers licence…. Can you help me figure out how to do that? I feel like I would qualify both for the licencing and grants, as well as being a good financial investment and having a large amount of the needed assets personally owned already. I don’t have instagram. Ping me if you really want ot work with someone

  12. Cannabias Media on October 24, 2021 at 10:31 am

And there you have the ABC Board for Cannabis, the Alcoholic Beverages Commission in NC regulates alcohol very similar to this. Sounds like the same kind of people who know nothing about cannabis were responsible for throwing these laws together.

AL is sticking to the good-ol-boy plantation model. A handful of licenses to a select group of buddies. And no smoke-able so cops can still say "I smell Marijuana in the vehicle."

  29. Skiller189X on October 24, 2021 at 10:53 am

I’m confused about the VA law. It will be legal that I posses cannabis, and its legal I can grow it. But its illegal to buy it.. So how do I grow it if I can’t buy it? Can’t order seeds through the mail. So how does one even start? How can I possess something I can’t buy or grow?

  30. Chris Gordon on October 24, 2021 at 10:54 am

How does this effect federal workers? I work for the federal government and I would like to smoke. Will that effect my job

Can you please do a similar video on North Carolina SB 711? It’s moving forward which is good, but it’s such a flawed bill. I’d like to know your opinion on it.

  32. Ricky D on October 24, 2021 at 10:55 am

Sounds like it’s open on both ends. One that could help the common man elevate themselves and be prosperous in a new venture. The other end is for big tobaccoπŸ™„β€¦. Think about it.
