Cannabis and Coronavirus: How Pandemic Spending Patterns Are Shaping The Industry | Forbes

In March, when the majority of American businesses were forced to close due to coronavirus, one industry is still staying somewhat afloat: cannabis.

During the week of March 16, cannabis dispensaries in legal states across the country started seeing their sales surge with long lines forming outside of stores and an uptick in online ordering and delivery services β€” which was due to an initial stocking up mentality when the fate of dispensary operations was unclear.

Some of these dispensaries are spending nearly $1M A YEAR to sanitize their work areas EVERY NIGHT. The sanitation teams that come in are NOT cheap and a necessity for them to stay open during this tragedy.

Denver resident here. This guy has it wrong. What happened was the city council determined that dispensaries and liquor stores were "non essential" and suddenly huge lines started forming around eachblock with a liquor store or dispensary. 3 hours later lol they redetermined that dispensaries and liquor stores would stay open lol. Dispensaries are still open here. At least we have good weed to pass all this time at home.

  42. Subject To Christ on January 16, 2022 at 9:14 pm

The Lord Jesus Christ delivered me from smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol, in a single night. These substances drone you out, and make you numb. I hadn’t cried in years, and even though, in a single night my life flipped upside down, God had sovereignly intervened in my life, and I wept. All I did, from what I can even remember, is called upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and He saved me. He regenerated me with the Holy Spirit, and I walked away from a lifetime of sin. I was lead by the Holy Spirit to reach out to the only Christian that I knew, who was my cousin. He lead me through the book of John. When I opened the Bible, the words came to LIFE. Over time, I learned, understood, and believed in the Gospel. The abundance of life, and love that Jesus brought into my world, can only be described as a miracle. It is never too late, and you are never too far, to turn to Jesus and receive forgiveness for your sins. Especially in these times, you need to know that Jesus died on the cross for your sins. He took your place on the cross: He died once, and for all peoples sins. The wages of sin, is death. Similar to the way we earn a paycheck by going to work, we have earned a wage for our sin, and it is death. Jesus lived a sinless life, and was perfectly righteous. What He accomplished by dying on the cross was (what some call) the β€˜great exchange:’ His righteousness, for our sins. He payed the wage that we earned, for our sins. If you’ve committed a crime, and somebody pays your fine, you are free: Jesus paid the fine, with His life. Jesus didn’t stay on the cross, but was buried and resurrected 3 days later, which was witnessed on numerous accounts. The resurrection is one of the most well documented events in ancient history. Part of the significance of the resurrection, is that we serve a living God, and He has said that He will return for His people. The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Repent and believe in the Gospel! If you confess with you mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will he saved. God bless, and I hope this has encouraged you. For more insight into the word, check out our blog and podcast… subjecttochrist.com… podcast, search β€˜subject to christ, in iTunes.

Just can’t listen and not think ‘stoner’. Compliant politicians are hoars [who are’s ; puta ] for tax money. Stoners and hoars… it’s almost funny.

  44. RBT on January 16, 2022 at 9:15 pm

The real reason sales went up was the same reason alcohol sales went up. People want to make sure they can continue to get high.

  45. PAPOOSELAKESURFER on January 16, 2022 at 9:15 pm

In the Rocky Mountains there is stable overcapacity of organic local production, so no fear of shortages or hoarding. The same with local production of grass fed beef, fruit and vegetables there is stable demand and stable production independent of national fear fads, and even Walmart carries local sources including organic. Many have small LED grow light closet gardens for continuous harvest of greens, simple sprouting Mason jars with window screen lids produce fresher than market produce weekly.
