Why I'm NOT Buying Tesla Stock, Bitcoin, Aurora Cannabis – Stock Market For Real Investors

Stock market investing for real investors is something done over a life cycle of investing, always keeping compounding over the long-term in mind and focusing on low risk/high reward.
I know such stock market investing is boring, not exciting as tesla stock or aurora or bitcoin, but I know it works over the long term and it allows you to build wealth.

am in 50% Gold, not as traditional investment but alternative to holding USD. Sold stocks this year that hit sell targets and nothing I like to invest (or increase holding of). Believe Gold’s growth is fueled by growing monetizing and World wide debt. Willing to wait for better investment with the 50% of investment accounts.

Did you invest in Apple or Amazon early? If you didn’t, then you don’t know about growth investing. Value investing is just one approach. I call it the Scrooge approach to investing. I realize your lack of understanding of the Tesla product and company when you mix it with weed and bitcoin. I started investing in Tesla in mid 2019 when I realized the technical advantage of Tesla over the competition and shared its principles and projections. It was never a get rich quick scheme. My investment goal was long term (over 10 years) and never dreamed the stock price explosion. Nobody can predict the stock price in the short term, but I have the conviction of Tesla future and I have invested 90 percent of my portfolio in Tesla. I don’t know what kind of PhD you are, but I am sure you are not an engineer like myself. You don’t have to be an engineer to know where to invest, you need to be an engineer to understand Tesla’s future. I’ll be back to comment in 5 years. Then we can compare notes.

I started investing in March 2020 I was doing great on my own and then I started following all this Youtubers and tweeter pumpers and buying all this "growth shit companies" and fucked it all up, got my portfolio down to -15% like 4 months ago I started to watch you, everything money, Cameron Stewart, Jimmy from Learn To Invest! And I went to work and started to get rid of everything and switching to good companies, now I own 19 stocks on my portfolio that I’m 100% content with, like no worries at all and I’m back up to 7% and growing! I’m so happy and grateful to have found you guys!

Value for Warren is cola or chewing gum. He missed a great deal of apple, would not be surprised he bought tesla in Q1 so it we go 1500 end of the year. We ll see. Value is what people value not necessarily you.

It’s possible to make money trading all the stocks you mentioned, but it’s not investing if you don’t get paid to hold them. Great video as always, thanks Sven!

What im wondering is, how much new money has to be pumped into TSLA stock to propel it from a 40B stock to 150B? Would it take 100% the change in market cap? 30%? 10%? If 30% of the US population each buys a share of TSLA, would that be enough? Getting this right could maybe predict the top in this rally/squeeze or whatever you call it and that can be quite profitable. What im seeing is a lot of TSLA retail bulls have no business investing. E.g. they think the success of spaceX and potential of starlink is a reason to buy TSLA. Or TSLA is a world leader in solar and energy storage and thats a reason to buy

I am investing as a means of doubling the amount of a fixed sum for the purposes of buying property. A deposit of half the property value is all I want. For this to happen gold has to trade at Β£3200 an ounce and a barrel of oil to trade at $80+.

  16. ArMa Huang on February 13, 2022 at 10:57 pm

Stick to what you can do and get rich slowly is good. But people seeing the reason behind the Tesla πŸ’© and able to get rich faster is wisdom πŸ˜‰ There is no single way of getting rich and not everyone having a fair starting point. People looking into different opportunities and all got their risks and return.

Bitcoin is a wealth hole. The aggregate amount of money lost in Bitcoin is greater than the aggregate gains, even though the gains will make a few people rich.

    Is your Ph.D. in finance?

  28. scott tisdale on February 13, 2022 at 11:15 pm

A lot of people would have lost out on A LOT of gains had they listened to this. I get the sentiment of not chasing β€œhot stocks”, but there is a difference between stocks that are hot bc they are hyped, and stocks that are hot bc the company is actually executing. I don’t think you see what Tesla has been doing, what their growth potential is, and how tremendous their addressable market is. Value investing is ok if you already have money, but poor/middle class people will never get rich that way. I’m not saying go all in on a hyped stock, but if you do your research and find that diamond in the rough and you truly have strong convictions about a company long term then it is not a bad thing to get behind that company. The key is to hold that stock long, ride out the dips and never panic sell.

  34. Mike Stanmore on February 13, 2022 at 11:20 pm

I found it fascinating to see Elon Musk ridiculing the potential exponential growth of COVID19 infections, but later claim that he expected Tesla to grow by 50% year-on-year. If you’re gonna use reductio ad absurdum for the one, you have to apply it to both.

  35. Maxim Ivashkov on February 13, 2022 at 11:23 pm

Did not get arguments against tesla. Nobody is saying it will grow at that high rate forever. However multiple positive factors make 800 not that crazy just high. Also if the next 10 years is the era of disruption , tell you the secret. do not loose money means the upside πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ you just make assumptions what loosing is and see only one side. and that is what warren wanted to say.

  36. User on February 13, 2022 at 11:25 pm

Hi Sven, some brokers nowadays allow for the purchase of fractional shares of stock. I am a BRKB shareholder with holdings <$300k, and would theoretically prefer to hold the equivalent amount of a fraction of BRKA. Can you think of any disadvantages to this approach? While BRKA has more voting rights than the ownership equivalent in BRKB, there may be more counter party risk associated with owning fractional shares. BRKA may outperform BRKB over the long term because of differences in voting rights, particularly after Warren Buffet β€œretires to play bridge” and potentially converts his shares into BRKB. Any thoughts on this subject?

  37. cedric dellafaille on February 13, 2022 at 11:26 pm

Thank you very much for your videos. i am in a mix of both between long term and short term (meaning 3-5years) i love to look at trends and i deep dive into companies where its possible to get an edge over other investors, but i do believe in compounding. however now in a steep recession i think its good to find extremely low stocks with a nice cash capital so you have the highest possibility that company will survive this panick market

  44. Alex Feldblioum on February 13, 2022 at 11:33 pm

Sven, what you are missing is… Physical gold and Bitcoin is much more than a speculation or an investment… It’s insurance, and that is a powerful thing. For you to not consider owning some gold and some Bitcoin for insurance is a little foolish in my humble opinion.

would you invest in any energy companies?

  47. George Samaras on February 13, 2022 at 11:38 pm

People keep missing the signal in the noise. Value investing is still here. The only reason tesla survived the shorting and death is because of elon’s 1 in 100 years persona. Tesla made it. Hunders of battery and electric car manufacturers didn’t. 1 tesla doesn’t negate value investing. Situation would have been very different without dollar printers and elon musks. Value investing should be the default investing mode unless proven otherwise.
