Germany moves closer to legalizing cannabis | DW News

As coalition talks progress here in Germany, there’s one thing the three parties hoping to govern together do agree on – legalizing cannabis.
The Social Democrats, Greens and liberals want a regulated system for the cultivation, distribution and sale of cannabis. It’s not just consumers who could benefit – but also the pharmaceutical industry. Germany would follow Luxembourg as the second EU member state to legalize cannabis.

Only if it will be affordable to consume it as a tea, or they will make tea products, otherwise is as good as cigarettes, makes no sense to use it for health purposes

  7. LWC on March 26, 2022 at 6:14 pm

Simple maths, legalisation can bring in billions in tax… Divert a % to the national health service to support mental health wards.

From Canada and congrats to Germany on the path to legalization. Germany should do dispensaries rather than through pharmacies, it will largely be recreational and would be a nuisance to those who actually needs things like heart medicine. I would do a combo dispensary/liquor store before combo dispensary/pharmacy.

Look who approves it: corrupt politicians and pharma.
Look who disapproves it: doctors, who specifically deal with drug effects on brain.
Summary: increase profits on the cost of general population health, including children. Meanwhile China and Russia fund programs for healthy way of life (Π—ΠžΠ–, look up).

If it was legalised there would be less gang violence etc.

News headlines in Germany ten years from now, "Germany has an imported US problem, obesity. Unhealthy snacks sales are skyrocketing."

Cannabis Hemp is good for people with ADHD because high CBD with low THC makes ADHD more relaxed and more creative in their social behaviior.

I wish this will be for all and not only for residents.
Long time I don’t visit Germany I have some of my best memories in life there when I went at Loveparade 2000 in Berlin and at Oktoberfest 2 times.
We’ll have a referendum here in Italy next spring about cannabis legalization let’s hope to be ready🀞
Germany is definitely a beautiful country, good luck and see you soon anyway!

Can’t wait until we finally have it legalized in Bulgaria as well. It such boredom to have policemen pick pocketing you all the time. Criminal status of marijuana is good only for the corrupt government officials and drug dealers. Can’t stop nobody from smoking, just kicks people out of the country. Once it’s legal for home growth I promise to grow kilos in my house and give it away for free to everyone in the hood. For the past 15 years I’ve been buying weed from home growers and distribute it among my friends for no benefit I give it to them for the price I take it and the only reason for me not growing and giving it out for free is because of my mom worrying that I will get behind bars.

Go go Germany if you gonna do it is gonna spread all around

  22. SkyHigh9 on March 26, 2022 at 6:34 pm

Guys this is a missconception. Germany doesnt debate about it, all partys are in for it. In 18hours they debate about HOW to legalize it😩😊😊😊

  23. Jorge Manso on March 26, 2022 at 6:34 pm

I think that the best side of all this is the normalization and acceptance of consumption and consumers, imagine the day when we accept a situation where a person is smoking weed as if she or he was drinking alcohol, then one other big thing happens, many people will be able to grow their own plants, I see in that a big advantage…

  24. Whiskersisters#official on March 26, 2022 at 6:37 pm

GOOOOOO GERMANY SO HAPPY TO HEAR THIS ! hoping other EU countries will follow suit and stop fighting this senseless war on drugs.

  38. Pete Power on March 26, 2022 at 6:49 pm

If not then the rulers get our answer. How many people died because of the laced weed etc. They got a lot of money from the pharma, that they dont legalize it. Only to make cash for themselves. I hope their sons and daugthers will smoke the badest weed that will ever exist on this planet

  42. Chillychese on March 26, 2022 at 6:56 pm

I’m confused at how any rational human being is agianst legalization

  43. FrozenTits_Records on March 26, 2022 at 6:56 pm

Legalization is only good for the rich. California had the best Medical program before it was legalized which kept the power in the people and making it legal hands it over to big corporations and the rich just to profit off the true hard working farmers
