'Hard to keep up': Legal cannabis growers, operators calling for change

Small cannabis growers and operators say heavy state taxes could cause many in the legal marijuana business to shut down for good. “It has been a struggle, but I’m hoping things change,” said Mindy Galloway, CEO of Khemia Manufacturing in Sacramento. Her business, like many other small operations across the state, is fighting to survive. “We have very small margins,” Galloway explained. “It’s hard to keep up with all the taxes and fees and licenses.”

It was way better quality of product and clones before recreational use initiated. Medical quality is garbage now days. Quality growers and clones are a thing of the past. Medical cannabis had better completely devastated. Why can’t small farmers have opportunity again to make a living and provide the quality that once was when medical laws were on effect. Politicians suck !!!

That’s a BS. Tax evasion for Chronic!!
Most of these Licensed Dispensers have their Marijuana,
and Manufactured Marijuana Products, grown from Growers with the best holistic integrity. The Products are grown by Organic Professionals who do not have a growing license. The Marijuana is grown Outdoors is better quality than indoor because of the Geological location it grown.
This Tax is only for the Newsome and Pelosi family fund. "The Richer get Richer!!!"

Just grow it or get it from friends. Since 2010 the price fell to $100-175 oz. Im in the sierra mtns, rural, and mj is everywhere and Cheap. Stores along hwy 49 charge $35-60 ish an 1/8th but after trying it i find garden variety home grown is cheaper easier to get and just as good. Sorta like tomatoes

It’s your own dumb fault for going out and getting a legal grow license. You could’ve easily grown illegally and sold on the black market for much much more. You pretty much begged to be taxed.
