Germany’s cannabis start-ups flourish as the country moves to legalise recreational use of the drug

While the sale of cannabis for medical use has been legal in Germany since 2016 the sale of cannabis for recreational use was outlawed under Merkel’s leadership. The country’s governing new coalition has set out a plan to allow the sale of the drug to adults from licenced shops.
