Cannabis federal legalization is a very polarizing issue with government. Whereas the people have made it clear that they want cannabis federal legalization to push through, congress does not represent the people. Should cannabis federal legalization move forward, this will be very big for cannabis stocks in general. However, this is a long way because cannabis stocks are penny stocks that still need to up-list to the bigger markets. The Safe Banking Act is critical for the survival of the cannabis industry as the Fed moves from ‘near zero interest rates’ (high liquidity) to tightening and higher interest rates through 2022 hikes. Most cannabis companies had access to cheap money (low cost of capital), but with each rate hike the noose tightens around their operational profits. Couple this new high cost of capital with no ability to write off expenses (280E), the high cost of a cash only business (security), and extremely high taxes, and you have a recipe for consolidation in cannabis. I blame Schumer and Booker for killing the Safe Banking Act (has failed six times to pass), so I will blame them for destroying cannabis if they continue to focus on using legalization solely as an election issue for votes. I don’t trust them at all! Your next title could be "How Schumer will Kill the Cannabis Industry".

So now 2 weeks before the congressional recess you change your mind and agree with what the rest of us knew all along, this bill isn’t going anywhere. But hey, maybe the conservative courts will legalize it in a decade from now. WTF !!

This bill is DOA and your going to have some start ups go belly up in this economy unless they can ramp up growth to combat high interest rates. The USG and the states always need more revenue. They are nuts to not approve it. Tax the weed not me!

The fact it is even on schedule 1 in the first place is bogus. Cannabis has never caused an overdose death. Never killed anybody. It was put there for malicious purposes. The rest of the world is moving forward and leaving the US behind. A citizen or class action could sue the government on that fact.

It won’t all pass, imo, but hope that maybe some things can get passed and talked about. Take people out of jail that should not be in, The Safe Banking Act I believe should also pass. Maybe they let each state decide if they want to be legal or not, who knows. I believe it will all be legal one day, just hope it doesn’t take many years.

Booker and Schumer keep adding extra to the Cannabis Bill knowing the Senators won’t pass the Bill, the plan is to keep this Bill off Biden desk.

All this is great news ….exactly what we all have been waiting for. The Tilray /HEXO deal is the proof in the pudding. It’s only a matter of time when the day’ll come and the market is going to boom and whoever is getting in now and choosing to stay in are going to be sitting pretty well.

it only makes sense to legalize, considering how much tax revenue they could generate with it, between roni rona govt aid handed out, and supplying Ukraine with weapons. but they also have alot of money invested on programs to "fight the war on drugs" privateized jail systems and such so who knows the political rational one way or another. I can’t/ dont indulge in products, but i think it 100% should be legal without a doubt.
