New initiative to legalize recreational marijuana aims to make the ballot in 2024

Marijuana has been a hot topic in Florida over the past several years. Since medical marijuana was signed into law in 2016, cannabis companies have popped up all over the state.

The largest medical marijuana operator Trulieve, which has several locations across the Bay area, is helping fund the push to make recreational use of marijuana a reality in 2024.

The latest push to legalize recreational marijuana in Florida is being spearheaded by the country duo The Bellamy Brothers.

If you think being legalized at the federal level will help anyone other then the government you’re only fooling yourself. I have no doubt cannibis will one day be legal but at that same time the taxes will be raised so high people will start street dealing all over again. Mark my words.

‘Legalization’ is a greedy scam. Repeal the existing laws. No regulation needed. Treat it like other harmless plants. Norml was established to repeal the laws. Now we have these goons coming in wanting to establish complex legal schemes. They make more laws not less. That’s the gubmint picking winners and losers. If the current laws are dumb just repeal them.

Screw the government. In NY they are letting people with weed convictions get in line first for a sales license. What a crock. What about those of us that smoked and never got busted??? See it pays to get caught.

We need a national legalization of marijuana.

Cannabis consumers deserve and demand equal rights and protections under our laws that are currently afforded to the drinkers of far more dangerous and deadly, yet perfectly legal, widely accepted, endlessly advertised and even glorified as an All-American pastime, alcohol. Plain and simple! Legalize Nationwide Federally Now!

Doesn’t matter if pot is legal. Drug laws are enforced by EMPLOYERS. Drug test equals expulsion from the job market. You morons wanna smoke dope… stop the test for a job racket.

It’s time for us, the majority of The People to take back control of our national cannabis policy. By voting OUT of office any and all politicians who very publicly and vocally admit to having an anti-cannabis, prohibitionist agenda! Time to vote’em all OUT of office. Period. Plain and simple. Politicians who continue to demonize Cannabis, Corrupt Law Enforcement Officials who prefer to ruin peoples lives over Cannabis possession rather than solve real crimes who fund their departments toys and salaries with monies acquired through cannabis home raids, seizures and forfeitures, and so-called "Addiction Specialists" who make their income off of the judicial misfortunes of our citizens who choose cannabis, – Your actions go against The Will of The People and Your Days In Office Are Numbered! Find new careers before you don’t have one.

The People have spoken! Get on-board with Cannabis Legalization Nationwide, or be left behind and find new careers. Your choice.

If you can’t grow your own 6-12 plants in your house, then it’s pointless to legalize it.

It’s sad to see Americans are so lazy they rather complain about legalizing on the internet than to actually do something about it, the power is in the people.

I’m glad I live in Canada

People need to look at Colorado. There has been quite a uptick in crime there since legalizing weed. May not be the best choice.

  23. @#$_g on August 18, 2022 at 5:24 am

Florida is probably down to legalize mushrooms too.
