Hawaii Marijuana Laws for Home Cultivation and Medical Use in 2021
The Aloha State legalized medical marijuana in 2000 but recreational use remains illegal. Home cultivation laws are also tightening: caregivers won’t be allowed to grow for their patients anymore after December 31, 2023 unless there are no dispensaries on the patient’s island, or the caregiver is the parent, guardian, or person that has custody for the minor patient or adult lacking legal capacity.
Here are some notes about Alaska’s’ marijuana home grow laws:
*Medical marijuana was legalized in Hawaii in 2000 when Gov. Ben Cayetano signed into law Act 228. This allowed registered patients and their caretakers to grow their own at home.
*Patients are allowed to possess up to 4 ounces and grow up to 7 cannabis plants
