Proposed bills pushing to regulate high-potency cannabis products in Washington

It has been 11 years since the state of Washington legalized the recreational use and sale of marijuana. Now, there are two bills aiming to address high-potency cannabis products.

“The cannabis industry has made it very clear they are not interested in prevention; they’re interested in profit,” said Rep. Lauren Davis, D-Shoreline.
Strong words from Rep. Davis who is proposing two bills this legislative session. Right now, buyers pay a 37% excise tax on cannabis products, the first bill would raise that as much as 65% on products with at least 60% in potency. It also requires warning labels for those products and prohibits sales to anyone under 25.

“Research study after research study, particularly in the last several years showing these products cause psychotic disorders, particularly in individuals under the age of 25,” said Davis.

What’s the data driving this based on how Washington state has been impacted? I’ve heard studies cited that this effect can occur but what’s the real world outlook so far? High potency cannabis wasn’t invented yesterday…

Yes Yes More Regulation is necessary! And if the age 25+ is not driving people crazy or sick with CHS just change the age limits for concentrates to 26 and change the THC limits for the younger population to 26% max

"Research study after research study, particularly in the last several years showing these products cause psychotic disorders, particularly in individuals under the age of 25" — Davis
Maybe she should consider making the legal age of alcohol consumption 25 years of age as part of her "campaign" because…
"Psychosis associated with alcohol can occur with acute intoxication, alcohol withdrawal, and chronic alcoholism. Alcohol-related psychosis is also known as alcohol hallucinosis." — National Library of Medicine

Half-truths and lies by omission allow "potent" THC theories while hiding the source of this challenge, which certainly ain’t to add more contaminants than already come with indu$trialized mari-caca just to boost contaminated statistics, blaming "strange" illnesses on it while over/billing/over-taxing as if there’s no tomorrow…
