I fail to see why humans flirt with death in such a cavalier fashion. There’s NO reason for taking unnecessary risk, what with rebreathers or (if bulk & expense are joy-killers) just plain O2 saturation with CO2 scrubbers – either chemical or by bubbling through seawater, or why not Both! Having a FEW more breaths away from your last could do wonders for lots of things, including your loved ones’ peace of mind.
