Inside one of the UK's police sanctioned cannabis clubs

Inside one of the UK’s not-so-secret cannabis clubs

Inside Teesside Cannabis Club, or Exhale Harm Reduction Centre, members can come and smoke cannabis to their heart’s content.

But this is the UK. Cannabis remains a class b controlled substance, and possession remains punishable with up to five years in prison.

So how the hell does that work?

Ed Campbell went to find out.

  3. DFC on October 18, 2023 at 12:31 pm

havent watched this but got triggred by the title ….if this is true then it a llot of bs because we had a well run private members only "cannabis club" in london that ended up getting raided and majority of our finances seized and had to serve time

    The Term witch means poisoner.
Drug dealers are the new witches.
Poisoning people’s minds against the state. Poisoning their bodies and minds with addictive substance.
    Destroying their prospects.

I just read the head line. I don’t have an opinion for or against but how do the police have the power to "sanctions" things??

  8. Loopy Lou on October 18, 2023 at 12:42 pm

100% behind this idea, it’s worked well in other countries

  9. Jack Nicholas on October 18, 2023 at 12:43 pm

Anyone who’s heavy on opioids should, replace opioids such as tramodols, solpadols and other heavy addictive painkillers and switch to cannabis, it doesn’t rot your organs and isn’t no where near as addictive,
Stop turning green and start smoking green πŸŽ‰

  10. checodogface on October 18, 2023 at 12:43 pm

how much money would government make if it was legal in taxes

  11. Jays Gaming Corner on October 18, 2023 at 12:44 pm

me personally, i cant wait until they legalise it, because it’ll be made available pre rolled and taxed to fuck and then if youre caught buying it from a dealer, it’ll carry a even worse sentence

  12. Special K on October 18, 2023 at 12:45 pm

    This is legal drug dealing

  13. Harry Chown on October 18, 2023 at 12:46 pm

So, members need to bring their own cannabis? I don’t get it. Or do members buy from other members in the club? If the idea is to provide a safe place and to stop people dealing with dodgy street corner dealers, then surely members are able to access cannabis here and not just source it themselves elsewhere, take it there and smoke it there?
Seems like a good idea though, but unless there was a way to access it there, I think most people would just choose the old school street dealer way and just take it home.

  14. Danny Hodges on October 18, 2023 at 12:46 pm

Theresa mays husband own the only company legally allowed to grow cannabis in the uk. We grow more medicinal cannabis than any other country in the world. That’s why it’s still illegal, an ex PM is directly profiting from it.

  15. Alch on October 18, 2023 at 12:48 pm

The problem is, someone smoking cannabis next to your house, means i am affected by your habit, which will inevitable reek out my entire house. Whereas smoking drinking nect door, will not affect my life.

There was one of these in Stockport over 25 years ago, it only lasted 3 or 4 months, it was totally independent from the police

how is this happening, whilst simultaneously people with valid medical prescriptions are being arrested and their prescription destroyed even after showing all the documents? It insane the disparate policing we have

Degenerates that are obsessed with drugs will always push this agenda. All drugs, regardless of strength, should be illegal.

  28. notmanynamesleft on October 18, 2023 at 1:04 pm

Gateway drug for tens of thousands in the UK this smelly old sh1te,over time you mix with different dealers that sell other drugs and many eventually succumb to the temptation.

  29. EMar on October 18, 2023 at 1:04 pm

I wonder if you’ve met many people that cannabis helped them calm down on their alcohol addiction.
Sorry, I just heard you mention it, that’s a good thing considering serious alcohol addiction kills people.
If my mam and dad and uncle were allowed to have some herb, I believe they’d still be alive today.

  30. Cheeba CheeoBusiness on October 18, 2023 at 1:05 pm

They keep holding on their cash cows… Imagine if people stop abusing alcohol and hard drugs πŸ˜‚ LEGALIZE IT! πŸ’š

We are such a backward thinking country that I can’t see it ever changing to be like Amsterdam. But it makes perfect sense to anyone with half a brain. The police will NEVER arrest their way outta the drug use of the uk.but they will try. Pissing right into the wind

  41. rav d on October 18, 2023 at 1:18 pm

Everywhere else legalising… uk on some middle aged vibes.

  42. Capitalist Jesus on October 18, 2023 at 1:18 pm

After seeing both parties of the UK government ignore all of the expert opinions before banning inhaler’s, to appease their boomer voters who complained about the mess, I have no doubt that logic and reason is not going to get us anywhere in the political world.

The only option left is that the police just decide to focus on other things. Police cannot change the law, but they can allocate more or less resources to certain laws. It’s great to see you working with them.

  43. Saffire Sanchez on October 18, 2023 at 1:18 pm

Great work Michael. I think you’re a grounded, reasonable voice in the community. I hope this model get’s introduced as our pubs and social spaces become obsolete.
Maybe this is the next progression. Keep up the good work mate!

Criminalising weed is one of the stupidest things

If weed was legal then it would keep it in the hands of the right people

  49. Jack Buff on October 18, 2023 at 1:22 pm

We had UKs first cannabis cafe here in Stockport! Founded by Colin Davies! It was promptly raided numerous times by the bizzies.. the bastards. It’s simply insane that cannabis is illegal… pathetic.

  50. Pete on October 18, 2023 at 1:25 pm

legalise it, legislate it, tax it, remove it from the gangs and the criminals.
