How to Mix Nutrients For Cannabis
How to Mix Nutrients For Cannabis
Learn how to mix the best nutrients for cannabis plants. Everything you need to know to mix fertilizers for marijuana. Simple easy step-by-step instructions and clear, accurate explanations so you understand what you are doing!
There are four things that matter when mixing nutrients for cannabis plants
1. Nutrient Element Ratio
2. Electrical conductivity
3. Order
4. And pH
This video covers how to mix nutrient solutions that have the correct Nutrient Element Ratio (NER), are the correct strength as measured by EC, and have the correct pH.
Learn and how to avoid nutrient burn.
Learn how to measure and adjust the pH of water for cannabis plants.
Learn why EC matters and why nutrient supplier recipes are too strong.
Using General Hydroponics Flora Series, Armor SI, CaliMagic, Diamond Nectar, Nutrilife SM-90, Rapid Start, Hone Forest TDS meter, and Apera instruments pH meter
Recipes and dosages that I use for every stage of growth are available at cocoforcannabis.com

Does anyone have an idea on how long all these nutrients will last in the bottle of water? I want to make a gallon like in the video but I have only seedlings π± so i hope itβll last long in the water.
I only have flora trio and calmag. Is that enough?
Nice I used GH for years. Then decided to try something else. I should have never left.
whats up doc question i use all that but ive added mammoth p and superthrive to my feeding also what you think about that???
What is the color of the Armor Si liquid?
3:34 Ive never heard someone pronounce cation (cat-eye-on) as cation (k-shun)
Does any one know how to store solution after you make it? Like what if I made five gallons and don’t use it all in a day, do I drop an air stone in it to keep it moving? What about degrading nutrients? I don’t wanna make a perfect solution one day and have it kill the plants the next, and while willing, I’d rather not have to mix every single watering. I’m also using general hydroponics
Remember, if you’re growing in soil, make sure to get an EC and PH meter made for soil
So is there any actual expiration date on nutes? Assuming it’s been kept in a cool, dark place? There’s some brown solid bits in my calmg. Coincidentally my plants look very bad off. But I think that’s because I poured 3% hydrogen peroxide directly on the plants and the roots. Gave it a flush and I’m starting them on a week 1 schedule. So I really don’t know if it was because of the h2o2 OR spoiled nutes :/
Could I add the silicon before I go to bed then add the other nuteβs in the am before feeding!!?
Easy way to mix : Get 5-10 plastic bottles about 6 oz. They should have a pointed twist top. Mark them and pour them into a measured shot glass. You canβt get that 4β syringe down that tall qt. bottle!
Isn’t 6.3 a little high for younger plants?
Can i use it in my hydroponic system directly into the water?
Hi there I started growing in coco 2 years ago and luckily I bought your book at the same time as it has proven to be a great help and my grows are good.
My problem with mixing nuits is that if I mix according to the plagron plan and in the order you outline I end up with a very high ec as you refer to in your video.
So to get the ec down to the plagron suggested ec I dilute my nuits, but in my case if I start with 250l I end up with 300l approx and I think that this might leave the mixture too weak in let’s say cal/mag because it’s 1ml/Ltr so therefore weakened.
I suppose what I’m trying to say is to achieve the correct ec I’m sacrificing my NER. Your book is invaluable well done on a concise instruction on coco growing
When I mix, my ec is never close to the feed chart. Maybe it’s my ppm/ec pen.
Im very thankful to have found your site. Backed by science and not urban legend.
Finally. Thank you for this information
Do you feed nutrients all the time you water your plants
whats another good option instead of that wetting agent that you used? thanks dude great videos you have really helped me!
Thanks for your site it has improved my growing ten fold
if im using hydroguard instead of h2o2, should that be added before or after rapid start?
Wow, when I use rapid start my ph drops waaay down.
It would be great if you could put the links in the videos I found it difficult to find the feeding chart. This is a great video and extremely helpful thank you.
I followed your guide and as soon as I added the "gro" it turned milky white and was told this is precipitation. I tried again with a bottle of fresh water and the same thing happened. My nutrients are the exact same as yours.
Dr coco can i swap armor si with growth technology liquid silicon?
Nice thorough man good job
Great information! Very well explained, thank you.
Can I use this feed Schedule for hand watering? If so, do I feed with every watering?
How much silica do you re9mmwnd in ppm?
Cashion lmao
Great informative video. Thank you
Just took notes of the most important information. This is excellent info.
Hello. Great, informative video. Question though! At which point in this order would you recommend is best to add a beneficial inoculant, specifically I’m asking about HydroGuard. I run it as I’ve got rather high temps in both my DWC and coco hempy tents and I’ve got no means to acquire a chiller so it was recommended to me.
Consider me subbed.
Is it necessary to dilute with calmag water? If diluted with plain water in buffered coco would change the ratios ?
What do you think of using Diatomaceous Earth for silica?
Can I used bloom nutrient from the beginning state?
Hey! Is it possible to not use rapid grow in your feed chart? I know that it might throw off the NER slightly but I’m fairly new to growing and I don’t know if I want to spend that much money on a rooting hormone.
the PH seem quite high at 6,3 for feeding ???
How long can you store the nutrient solution once fully mixed? What I mean to say is, could I mix up a 5 gallon bucket to pull a gallon at a time from?
And how much do you need to feed a 3gallon pot per feeding if you are feeding them 3x a day?
Just FYI, you don’t need to wait an hour for the potassium silicate to dissolve. It is already in an aqueous solution. It shouldn’t precipitate unless in the presence of an acid or colder temperatures. If you were mixing powder, then yes, it takes a long time unless you mix under heat and pressure.
Hi great video I learned a lot just from this. Quick question, why rapidstart put in the end? Any explanation?
βHow weed grow at homeβ says this solution is giving too high a dose of Potassium which will conflict with the Cal-Mag absorption. Therefore, it will cause βnutrient burnβ due to the potassium amount. What are your thoughts on that?
How often do you feed auto flower
I would love to see a video of your whole grow system, showing how your automated systems run cohesively together. Iβve been following the fertigation guide on the website and am just waiting for the shallow pan pump to get here for my self draining saucers!
When would u use fish fertilizer when would u mix that in ??
whats a good alt. for SM90?
thanks!!
PLEASE PLEASE HELP!! Call me stupid, but im looking at coco’s chart and im sure what all the numbers meen? Is it ml/gal or what do they meen??? Someone please help me! Thanks Brent
Finally. Thank you for this information
