Busting Cannabis Grow Myths With Prof. Bruce Bugbee

This channel and its content are intended for adults over the age of 21. I do not condone any illegal activities, and this video was filmed for documentary and educational purposes only.

I recently had the opportunity to fly to Logan Utah, where I would interview Professor Bruce Bugbee. Bruce is a world-renowned scientist whose work includes research into space farming with NASA and is also director of crop physiology for Utah State University. I’ll be asking Bruce some hard hitting questions that are heavily debated in todays growing community with the hopes to finally put some of these arguments to rest. We cover topics such as, organics vs synthetics, flushing, 48 hours of darkness, defoliation, and more.

No…NLS, Natural Living Soil, that is properly formulated and has large biodiversity will beat out chem ferts every day of the week. Chems will never reach the degree of plant health that a biodiverse soil can reach. Facts. Sorry… not sorry.

  22. @hehawkiller on December 24, 2023 at 8:01 pm

Something I don’t think that’s talked about enough is, light schedule. Is 24 hours better than 18? Or is some dark period beneficial to the plant during vegetative stage?

  23. @heywoodjablome5630 on December 24, 2023 at 8:01 pm

Bro Science exists elsewhere. I have experienced it in homebrewing.

  24. @usumusum6929 on December 24, 2023 at 8:02 pm

The part about defoliation and pruning got me think. So there is not scientific proof that they increase the yeald? And that is actually decreases it? Ive though the benefition is also, more energy to top nugs to grow bigger with "bigger net" than with the lower buds.

  25. @PrincessDillyBar on December 24, 2023 at 8:02 pm

My mom through the first medical marijuana rallies in Colorado. She stopped recriminations bill and she also started the adopt a highway/Street litter control program. If you would like to get together and make some contact or discuss anything, please let me know.

  32. @Blackmourne1 on December 24, 2023 at 8:11 pm

8:04 is very interesting. I once saw 4 of 8 plants flower way earlier just because of stress. they all came from 1 bud so they must have been siblings. feminized too, as all 8 were female. but 4 of them were root bound and had issues. These 4 were the sad plants before they were transplanted them into the ground. They looked like they were dying and they were. Which made them transition. It’s super interesting so see these plants adapt on the fly like that and come back and all that.

    Sweet!

  45. @juanbuddha4202 on December 24, 2023 at 8:34 pm

Bro Tip!! For outdoor growers who defoliate the bottom, always leave a couple leaves or a few buds at the bottom as decoys. U dont want bugs starting their colonies up top near the main fruit/leaf nodes. With leaves at the bottom they almost always start there first. Easier to catch, easier to manage

  46. @Pittsburgh-412 on December 24, 2023 at 8:36 pm
