The days of legal recreational cannabis use in Thailand may soon be coming to end, barely two years after it became the first South East Asian country to decriminalize the drug. The Thai Cabinet will review a draft law this month with an aim to ban recreational use by the end of the year, impacting thousands of businesses. Bloomberg’s Paul Allen reports.

@unraveledultimatefateon March 22, 2024 at 5:53 am
There are public health reasons for proposing a ban on recreational marijuana use, but such a measure could lead to unintended consequences. For example, medical or authorized patients might leak their products to tourists, potentially increasing illegal activity and creating dangers associated with drug trafficking. Additionally, both tourists and residents, when denied legal access, might resort to obtaining unregulated and potentially more potent products. This could lead to increased interactions with potentially dangerous individuals on the street and create tensions between police and tourists. Therefore, a more nuanced approach may be necessary before implementing a full ban. Perhaps a partial ban could be considered as an initial step. Banning recreational marijuana use altogether could create as many problems as when it was fully banned worldwide, and this does not sound good like a good idea at all, and i’m not saying that marijuana is an entirely harmless drug without it’s risks, although cigarettes are plain simply harmful and do not serve purpose, red wine and some few selection of wines with small amounts of alcohol is tolerated by the body and can be consumed in moderation, hard liquors, i would recommend against, as much you wouldn’t like a too high potency product for the first time, since it’s unpredictable effects and health effects may not be necessarily determined by dosing and any amount of dosing could cause a person to feel effects that are too intense for the first timer.

Legalizes, builds up an even bigger economy around it, not only the black market, then illegalizes recreational use because "oh no the kids are gonna smoke". So you basically said we decriminalize it, still kind of do, but now everyone below the age of becoming an adult is going to buy laced black market shit where who knows what’s inside. But alcohol and tobacco are still allowed recreationally.

Teenagers are better off smoking Cannabis than drinking alcohol & it’s also a lot safer, teenagers are vulnerable under the influence of Alcohol.
