Gurl you’re like the 4th person I’ve seen talking like this about our country after moving to the us, I hate it here. When I moved in I hated it with all my heart because I love dr, the city, the people, and even if dr system is fucked and a country in development, there was a way to make it work in order for us to live, even if all the shit was there, Dominicans get to be happy, even if everything else is falling apart. Here in us, I feel lonely, broke, an unhappy. I have been able to explore and travel and to dream for a life here because having to stay in order to get a citizenship, you must learn how to like it here. But bro I still miss my country and need to go back even if everybody tells me not to. Kinda sad but also nice to see I’m not the only one that feels the same.

Money printing causing inflation, position in the global market and disparity in pay and production is key to find a solution to living wages.

Have you ever thought of Puerto Rico? It’s just like the DR but you can smoke weed freely, rent cars, be gay, there is not a bunch of trash literally everywhere and etc.

The system set up by the US and other big countries (mostly G7) that have set up an economic system of dependency that leaves those 7 countries highly developed with the highest dollar value on the backs of the other countries that are left in the periphery, depending on dollars and cents for labor and exports to G7 countries. Vadana Shiva talks about how this has affected her country India, she has documentaries about it too.
