The first reason in 1937 was taxation and racism. It was the Democratic Party that was in power. Still itโ€™s about taxation and racism. Make it like tomatoes, just legal, no taxes

Legalize cannabis federally now. What’s legal to possess and consume in over half of the populated areas of The United States should not make you a criminal in states still being governed by woefully ignorant prohibitionist politicians. Cannabis consumers in all states deserve and demand equal rights and protections under our laws that are currently afforded to the drinkers of far more dangerous and deadly, yet perfectly legal, widely accepted, endlessly advertised and even glorified as an All-American pastime, alcohol. Plain and simple! Legalize Nationwide Federally Now!

Cannabis should be absolutely just as legal and easy to obtain anywhere as alcohol currently is. In every single state. No exceptions. It’s so easy: As legal and easy to obtain/use as alcohol currently is. Why hold relatively benign, often healing cannabis to any sort of irrational, stricter double standard than perfectly legal alcohol?

  18. @notanaftagent8444 on June 14, 2024 at 6:25 pm

The day we become regulated the same as alcohol it’s probably going to buy the government a few boats in tax revenue

The real question is what happens to the three strike losers in jail for MINOR pot possession when it was class 1. Do they now have grounds for appeal or reduction of sentencing do to the reclassification of the drug?

I work a dispensary in Florida, i have many, many, many people relate how much Marijuana has helped them live better lives off pharmaceuticals. Your insurance and big pharma companies don’t like losing addicts to cannabis. I’ve seen many people practically transform from zombies into active, social people. Yeah I’m sure quite a few just want to get high but as someone who suffered from chronic pain, I have a much better life socially and sexually by not using opiates. Cannabis allows me to control pain, inflammation and still feel like doing stuff.
