I got stung by a bee on my boob yesterday. I didnβt even know it was a bee. It was still alive after and it was tiny and black. Y’know… Like, bee stings are awful… But lemme give you a true taste of trauma. *Bubbly flashback warp music.*
You are in the boat after a SCUBA dive, exhausted cus your weights were fresh-water calibrated. You slouch and allow your chin to touch your chest, only to feel a sharp pain and a progressive, spreading throb.
Now, you are unable to speak spanish on a boat where the crew is spanish.
And you got stung under your jaw with no idea if you’re allergic to bees at all. You cannot speak, even to use the minute amount of spanish you DO know.

By little brother got chased down the street by a wasp one time, and when my mother went to dig it out from his hair, it kept slipping out of her fingers and burrowing back into his hair!! π Luckily she was eventually able to grab it and stomp it into the floor, because otherwise we were worrying that we would have to smack him on the head with the electric bug raquette to finally kill it. It took like, at least 5 minutes to get it off of him. Definitely a Top 5 traumatizing moment for him.
