Germany decriminalises recreational use of cannabis
Adults in Germany will soon be allowed to carry, grow and store cannabis after the government decriminalised recreational use of the drug.
It follows Malta and Luxembourg, who have legalised the recreational use of the drug in recent years.
From July, private cannabis clubs can supply 500 members on a limited basis.
“It’s not the law we expected, but it’s a good law because we will have 180,000 less prosecutions in the next year,” Association of Cannabis Social Clubs head Steffen Geyer said.
“There will be a big relief for cannabis consumers if you can have 25 grams of cannabis with you without being in fear of being arrested, in fear of problems with police.”
It will be another thirty years or more before it’s finally legal in Australia.
Of course we love our new law but it has so many bureaucratic holes, it’s more of a net than a blanket so far. You can grow three plants but owning more than 50 grams of dried bud is illegal.
The consumption limit for driving a vehicle was raised from 1 nanogram per milliliter blood serum to 3,5 nanograms, equivalent to 0,2 promilles of Alcohol (0,5 promilles are legal in Germany) which they say is almost not worth anything.
Many olf fashioned politicians are against this law, most of all ultra right wing conservative CSU-Leader Markus Söder (here and there known as "Adolf Söder) who is so heavily trying to fight this law that he even said in an interview: "Weed smokers, get out of Bavaria, this is not your country anymore!" while he was drinking out of his giant beer stein.
He also promised to double traffic controls and make cannabis users’ lifes "A living hell" and swore to take the law down as soon as he or a member of his party becomes Fuehrer.
Not a very "social" behaviour for a guy who leads the "Christian Social Union".
Yup, this is a good way to keep the population under control. The world as gone mad.
Thanks to our German federal government and especially to Karl Lauterbach, our health minister, that I am no longer a criminal!
Part of the appeal of the drug is precisely because it’s illegal. People think they’re being cool by doing something the government disapproves of. Now that weed is legal will it become an object of scorn for the "rebellious" parts of society?
But not in the granny states of Australia
Come On Australia!!!!!
Legalise recreational cannabis in the UK.
How very sensibel and humane!!!
Drug driving ?
About Time! When is the rest of the world going to WAKE UP!!!
Well done to Germany, and the rest of Europeans need referendums to vote on legalising marijuana 😁👍
‘ DECRIMINALISED ‘, not the same as, ‘ LEGALISED ‘.
im from bavaria and look up our chief king minister markus söder. hes fighting against cannabis right now. and here you can still get in trouble. they say where you get the 25g. it must be bought illegal if you have some now. they are scared nobody will drink they beer anymore
In the mid-19th century, the opium trade between the British Empire and the Qing Dynasty led to a rapid spread of opium use in Chinese society. This resulted in the citizens of the Qing Dynasty becoming addicted to opium, neglecting their everyday economic activities, and squandering their wealth. This situation led to many people falling into poverty. Furthermore, some of the opium addicts resorted to extreme measures to obtain opium. Based on these historical examples, I am opposed to the legalization of marijuana in Germany. This is because both opium and marijuana are addictive drugs, and their use can cause social and economic problems.

Hmmmmm…..

Plants Growing❤😂
yea baby 3 pflänzchen my friends 😀
germany is attempting to brainwash youngfolk into being AFRAID of food & medicine grown outdoors in living soil w/ fresh air, sunshine, birds & bees. incredible! its just another control freak tactic, the way churches historically used the power 0f pulpits & confessionals to control folks appetites. see thru it. dont see it thru. if u want a strong NATURAL immune system, not one ‘downloaded’ into u by injunction-mandated injection (bertrand russell in ‘the impact of science on society’, 1950’s, predicted mankind would be coerced into control by diet, injections & injunctions) its a trap…
April fools
Then there was actual manure brought to the entrance of that building in Brussels. – not a story i expected to hear…

Legalize a drug. Great
Nice 👌🏻
So you can grow 3 plants at home, but only possess 50 grams?
1.5 pound yield from 3 plants easily. Not sure how that rule works
Being allowed to carry 25 grams around seems a bit…excessive 🤣Other than that I’m all for it.
Within 12 months other types of drug use/abuse will start to climb and crime will climb with it. I asked a rural police officer how much crime was caused by drugs "Is there any other kind?" was the answer.
So quickly do they forget. Use of drugs during the Nazi regime was one of the strategies for population CONTROL! drugged populations turn into zombies.
Addicts is the only Word i can think of!
A modern country, populated by neandertals. Whats next?? Cocaine…….. because you feel so much better………. And you are adults 🤮🇸🇪
