Harvesting Honey from Stingless Bees

Harvesting Honey from Stingless Bees

Look, these two men are carefully prying open this thick, dried bamboo section. One firmly holds it with both hands while the other slowly opens it using a machete. Inside, we see something amazingโ€”a stingless bee hive.

They should carefully find the queen FIRST before harvesting. Get the colony moved BEFORE harvesting so they can create a new hive somewhere else. This is what the beginning of unsustainability looks like.

  26. @zhuzzir on October 14, 2024 at 9:17 pm

Not an expert but this seems like non-sustainable way of harvesting the "prized" honey.
I believes these bees would moves on and establish new hive later but the destruction had already been done, bit by bit of damages until there’s none of them bees to works with, ๐Ÿ˜ข.
