Temperature and Humidity for Cannabis Plants | Grow Guides Episode 19
Temperature and Humidity for Cannabis Plants | Grow Guides Episode 19
Temperature and humidity for cannabis plants is something all growers need to understand. If the plants get too cold, they will slow down growth and maybe even stop. On the other hand, if they get too hot, they will not be able to breathe properly and they will die. The same goes for humidity. If it is too humid, the plant will not be able to breathe properly. It is a fine balance of having the right levels of both, which is known as VPD.
In this episode of our cannabis podcast we explain everything you need to know about temperature and humidity for cannabis plants. What levels the plants prefer at what stage of growth, and how to adjust those levels if you need to.

Hydrometer measures density in liquids
Hygrometer measures humidity
Think of VPD like a syphonβ¦ you are pulling water through the roots and out the leavesβ¦ the higher the VPD (lower the humidity) the more water and food is pulled throughβ¦

As I’m listening to you guys and I’m really enjoying it.
I’m getting my grown room already first time.
I’m happy I came across 2 series.I found you at series five and then went back to 1 Learning a lot And π₯ π₯
Thank you for sharing your discussion π
simple question . . . how can you check overnight temp and humidity when you can’t let light in to actually see inside tent ? (subscribed)
I don’t do Celsius or metric.
Ok so what are those numbers you said in real temperature and real measurements?
You know that VPD is the best way to manage the balance of humidity and temperature. If your there’s a wide range of temps and rh that can give you the same VPD measurement. As you can see from the charts.
I agree it’s not necessary to focus on it but it’s useful to help understand the process.
Stop using METRIC READINGS…
Nice podcast
I want to now how much need to be the temperature in the night ? Which is the best ?
I use a dehumidifier outside the tent to manage humidity. A compressor pumps out warm dry air so I gaffa taped some ducting over the output and pump it ‘passively’ around the bug screen intake at the back of the tent. Then the extractor fan pumping out excess humidity can draw on it as required. I’m using the AC Infinity fan controller 69 to respond to vpd. My AC Infinity oscillating fan is also tied in to the system. I can’t fault it tbh.
I have a little greenhouse heater too.
I’m autistic so I enjoy the process of analysing the changing heat and humidity patterns and tweaking the system to an ‘unnatural’ degree.
got low humidity, cant fix it in my setup, i launched the run in winter when it was too dry, and in a closet in wood, i fight hard but the grow is slow and not beautyfull
Using a $20 infrared laser thermometer changed my grow. It got exponentially better once I was able to take temps of my top colas and soil. No more baking terps or low soil temps.
