Alaska is undergoing a remarkable change. Since passing Measure 2 to decriminalize marijuana in 2014, the state, which had long clung to a Reefer Madness-like fear of the plant, has been regulating and developing recreational use systems that allow locals and the state’s many tourists to consume cannabis safely in designated areas and contribute to the economy without encroaching upon public spaces. In the latest episode of Wide World of Cannabis, MERRY JANE heads north to the Last Frontier to better understand how change is occurring in a state that hasn’t always been 420-friendly.

I wanna get stoned with Sarah Palin.

Sigh… I could just scream. Smoking dope will not keep one from drink. The user will also drink, now while smoking. I did use both for most of my adult life and I used them together, virtually every time I either drank or smoked, I’d do both. So did everyone I knew. This part of marijuana advocacy
    is just pot propaganda.

I don’t think the feds will fly up there to shut it down . They are to afraid that their balls will shrink from the cold . People who smoke pot regularly are not usually the heavy drinkers. They know you get all messed up when they mix the two . The heavy drinkers I know smoke less pot because when they mix the two they get all messed up . What does this tell you . More pot = less alcohol it’s that simple .

    Anyone know the intro song?

Why are people still debating this shit. Isn’t it obvious like everything else? There is use and abuse. No one is absolutely right, and there are exceptions to the rule. And it’s painfully obvious that the worst possible scenario is war on drugs, but if people abuse their freedoms when everything ends up legal, that won’t be fun either, unfortunately…

How the fuck did marijuana become legal in Alaska before New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania

  15. @thelongranger55 on October 20, 2024 at 9:32 pm

I’d rather see it de criminalized and left alone , then legalized and regulated like its alcohol or tobacco ,the gov dosent deserve the tax coming from it , the tax it generates should go back into the states and city infrastructure or education at least there are many different ideas I have to spend the money

I was a greenhouse grower in the mid 70’s. It was legal for personal consumption. I was up near Talkeetna. You can grow very good weed in Alaska. You must cultivate. You cannot just plant a seed and get bud.

  21. @dand33911 on October 20, 2024 at 9:37 pm

Does it bother anyone else that they say they "legalized pot" but now there’s more regulations than there was before. You can only have an oz, concentrates are treated different, limited in growing plants, cant smoke in public. Blah blah.
Why can’t it just be like tomatoes? If I want to grow 5 plants for myself, no problem. If I want to grow 500 and setup up a little farm stand, no problem. If I want to make homemade tomato sauce, no problem.
It’s a false sense of more freedom. And now you have to pay taxes on it, congratulations.

The Devil’s Lettuce is a curse on mankind and the planet.

Every doper should be deported after years of hard labor building Trump’s Wall.

The Marines should be used to hunt down every single doper.

  25. @nickythefish447 on October 20, 2024 at 9:41 pm

    . Naturally. By nature.

  26. @michaellovell2518 on October 20, 2024 at 9:42 pm

Legalization is not enough to serve justice. The new laws are being designed with commercialization as a major driver rather than prioritizing personal freedom. Sure, it was refreshing to be able to carry marijuana in Colorado without fear of being jailed or fined simply for possessing it, but it’s still rather expensive. I manage to avoid legal hassles in my state by using a little common sense and by essentially paying others to assume the risks of "manufacturing" and selling it, so the only really significant change I see in states that legalize it is who gets my money. The restrictions that still exist are not necessary for any reason other than to attempt to control the financial aspects, and arguments pertaining to public health and safety issues are just so much bullshit in my view. I do not believe the government has any right to be in the marijuana business, and I do not feel it is just to financially penalize me for my personal choices. The governments who choose to legalize pot are essentially telling me that pot isn’t as bad as they made it out to be (which most of us figured out a long time ago), so they will now abstain from depriving me of my personal liberty for a price. "Sin taxes" and unreasonable restriction/regulation of personal liberties is bullshit. It makes no sense to me that marijuana should be more heavily taxed and regulated than junk food, which contributes to what has been referred to as health issues of epidemic proportions and costs the U.S. billions of dollars per year, effecting the health of millions of children.

    Come smoke our weed!
    We have bears
    Look there’s one….
That dream when you are running as fast as you can but it’s slow motion ….only you . the bear is at normal attack speed.
I’m starting to see a flaw in this Bongs and Bears trip

  28. @copplemeister on October 20, 2024 at 9:43 pm

South Africa has just legalised recreational ganja! 🇿🇦 Free the weed!

  29. @sh0tti_dripx304 on October 20, 2024 at 9:44 pm

If I were the government I would legalize it based on votes after the votes are over all the remaining states that are illegal sucks for you but that’s not reality LEGALIZE IT PLZ

  30. @mountainmetalhead6664 on October 20, 2024 at 9:48 pm

I live in the great state of wv and our government is to stupid to realize the positive side of marijuana and the money that could be made . It’s ok to get wasted on alcohol but smoke a joint and your considered a drug addict maybe one of these days they’ll get smart about it but until then us smokers will be labeled with meth and heroin addicts !

Willie Nelson said that the reason he is still alive today is partly due to him quitting drinking and replacing it with cannabis . Willie smoke pot for over 50 years and he is in his 80s now . He is in good shape for an old fart !

  44. @wayupnorth9420 on October 20, 2024 at 9:58 pm

It’s easy, ask a police Dept. Who gives them more problems with any encounter I promise that people that have smoked pot will be the most amiable encounter they can have. This includes sober people. Just a thought for all

Someone needs to create a strain that doesn’t give you the munchies. This is the only negative about weed.

  48. @wwsuwannee7993 on October 20, 2024 at 10:01 pm

We can all agree that putting any kind of smoke into your lungs is bad. That said we should also outlaw tobacco. Bottom line is, people should be able to do what they want in a "free" country as long as it harms no one.
