"Washed away all the gouache" you mean you gouached it all away

  2. @xozzZ__ on December 6, 2024 at 12:43 am

what paints/brushes/wooden canvases so you use?

  3. @kkderobst on December 6, 2024 at 12:44 am

Heyo! You can find prints of my work and originals in time for the holidays! Nothing like the gift of a creature staring at you. Find them at kkderobst.com *wink*

It’s exactly how writers talk about their editors. You need that editing, but with most art you can’t just "erase" after the fact and rewrite it, so you have to be super atuned to your work so you don’t overdo it.

It’s HARD. That’s one think i like about knitting as a medium, it allows for a level of editing lol

I have moments like those and if it’s not something I can restart because I work with paper and markers, I just laugh and say “guess this eight hour drawing is becoming my life’s mission!” and somehow I pull something half decent out, laugh, and say “NEVER make those mistakes again bc this was hell-“

  6. @Moshiiliio on December 6, 2024 at 12:49 am

Bro why did her voice change at the “drawing toes” 😭😭

  7. @kateb1127 on December 6, 2024 at 12:49 am

Another thing is KNOWING WHEN TO STOP AND FINISH.
My mom has been working on one painting for a month, correcting shadows and details and stuff, to the point where I couldn’t even tell the difference between fixes.
Our mutual friend has a painting she’s been working on for over a year, focusing on every little detail.
And it’s not a piece that needs a lot of detail, it looks more than done already but she just WON’T STOP.

So, know when to stop. Don’t correct it a million times. Nobody will notice that the shadow under this one leaf is a bit off. Nobody will notice that one weird freckle. NOBODY.
JUST STOP. Take a break, look at the piece from afar. Do you notice that speck of paint? No? You’re done! No correcting! Leave it be! Your art doesn’t need to be perfectly polished with no weak spots!

Artists will turn into a vampire for the sake of- single piece, "what ? You thought I wanted immortality for simple knowledge ??? No no no no…theres this piece I’ve been working on-".

  9. @vetchable on December 6, 2024 at 12:51 am

why you say it like that

  10. @justmevoid2509 on December 6, 2024 at 12:52 am

No. The hardest part is to pick up a pencil and do the arts

  11. @user-bg6gc6ry7y on December 6, 2024 at 12:53 am

I was doing a fanart in posca pen and paint 3 years ago and the skin color kept coming out horrible and I tried for days before having a emotional breakdown tearing it to pieces, throwing it in the trash, and spending 33 hours over the next 5 days to do a digital fanart instead. Sometimes you really just need to trash smth XD

  12. @kioshekat7931 on December 6, 2024 at 12:54 am

i am now gonna paint on wood so i have an undo button

  13. @ravenroseglaive on December 6, 2024 at 12:55 am

Agreed, another frustrating moment is when you realize that you don’t have to skill level yet to make a piece that you have your heart set on

  14. @atroquiniiiine on December 6, 2024 at 12:56 am

the facial expression of this one reminds me of kanaya maryam from homestuck

  15. @HayaAlFaris-r2t on December 6, 2024 at 12:57 am

Bro, that was my issue. If I didn’t like it, I would dispose of it and start over but then I watch somebody draw over my disposed of paper and they actually made art so sometimes I force myself to finish even if I hate it. That’s my training.

  16. @elizabethvaux4420 on December 6, 2024 at 12:57 am

just gouache it all away. make your mistakes take breaks. unionize. these thoughts and more ran through my head during this short, what a time to be alive.

  17. @Ch3eSy_Cheesecake on December 6, 2024 at 12:59 am

Drawing feet is lowkey hard though
Like I’ve had a couple pieces where I had to either draw feet or shoes and I— I just gave up man

  18. @erinviana1245 on December 6, 2024 at 1:04 am

    SO REAL.

  19. @dwtardisallonsy on December 6, 2024 at 1:05 am

    YOUR DOG!!! I love them🥺💗

  20. @nyxie2877 on December 6, 2024 at 1:05 am

Can we see the full tab?

  21. @tomatoesforbreakfast on December 6, 2024 at 1:06 am

Did it not mess up the flatness of the wood?

  22. @halfahollowperson on December 6, 2024 at 1:09 am

there’s a difference between “trust the process / ugly phase” and “alr this drawing is shit i need to redo this.”

and it takes confidence for both!

  23. @curlyhairedhero2673 on December 6, 2024 at 1:10 am

    Facts

  24. @klahmore on December 6, 2024 at 1:14 am

    Nooo she guahsed it away!

  25. @sharkbit3547 on December 6, 2024 at 1:16 am

I best learned this lesson from drawfee with “delete your art”

  26. @Raffinari on December 6, 2024 at 1:17 am

Great advice. I gave up years ago!🎉

  27. @bunnycafe1427 on December 6, 2024 at 1:19 am

Everytime my niece asks me how i got good at art i always tell her "Being a good artist is knowing and accepting you kind of suck but that’s ok because it means you can always grow and do better." The second you stop admiting their space to improve and you for yourself to finish everything you start is the moment your art suffers.

  28. @dionemartins0212 on December 6, 2024 at 1:20 am

No, no, y’all don’t get it, the dog was absolutely crucial to the video and the point they were making, I swear-

  29. @rainbowstory3333 on December 6, 2024 at 1:20 am

I needed this rn. I’ve been working since 9am I NEED to stop animation on maya for at least a few hours

  30. @chocoletentropy8673 on December 6, 2024 at 1:20 am

Does anyone know what undertone she used on the wood and why it was able to both be covered by the paint (cant spell guwash)but when raised off under water it staying on the wood?

  31. @Diary.by.L on December 6, 2024 at 1:22 am

A coworker I had used to worked 12+ shifts in the ER. Apparently she would have micro sleeps at every traffic light and she would just wait for the cars behind her to honk and wake her up

  32. @elenkindlova9124 on December 6, 2024 at 1:25 am

I often "over Draw" things …. I add And add details to the point i mess up And it looks bad And i have to fix IT

  33. @regardless2745 on December 6, 2024 at 1:25 am

For me it’s to stop adding details
I keep adding more and more small details that no one would notice or wouldn’t be spare a second glance and I just keep going
I love cluttered 3D art and stuff like that so I find it hard to just stop adding more than necessary

  34. @Elizak_Izag on December 6, 2024 at 1:26 am

Also! In the third episode at the beginning, somewhere in the background is the mannequin watching! (I think its when Jax or Kinger talk, not sure tho:P)

  35. @dionemartins0212 on December 6, 2024 at 1:28 am

    Drawing toes 😏🔥👹

  36. @taylorpinkblob5140 on December 6, 2024 at 1:28 am

    DELETE YOUR ART 🫵🫵🫵

  37. @catherinekraack1687 on December 6, 2024 at 1:28 am

Bro I needed this today. Trying dynamic angles and for shortening for a piece and I think I need to go back to basics 😭

  38. @nyxie2877 on December 6, 2024 at 1:29 am

No no no GIVE IT TO ME LET ME FINISH IT

  39. @KotaTheWulf on December 6, 2024 at 1:31 am

    Yep

  40. @SugarSpice07 on December 6, 2024 at 1:32 am

I know how to give up. I’m uncommonly good at giving up. It’s easy for me to say, "This is bad. I’m bad. This clearly isn’t working. I’m done." The more important lesson for me is how to start again.

  41. @_sleepyaisha_ on December 6, 2024 at 1:32 am

The original got waterboarded. Jokes aside, it is a very good skill to learn. I have the opposite problem of "when do I continue?" Haha

  42. @jlshootingstar333 on December 6, 2024 at 1:32 am

Honestly so true go off queen 🙌

  43. @Kapoiser on December 6, 2024 at 1:33 am

    Wheel dog!

  44. @Drac0ra on December 6, 2024 at 1:34 am

Okay- just gonna ask it. Why is the paint *bubbling*? It’s awesome.
Is it just cause it’s gouache? Because I’ve never seen gouache do that (limited/amateur artist here so don’t take my experience for anything useful lol)

  45. @nobleani9177 on December 6, 2024 at 1:36 am

Nah im pretty sure the hardest part is buying art supplies, we’re in a cost of living crisis, we cant afford art/craft supplies any more 😭

  46. @its_sydith07 on December 6, 2024 at 1:36 am

omg your dog is so cute and your artwork eats downnn!!!😍😍

  47. @lulolie on December 6, 2024 at 1:37 am

    Toes are fucking evil tho

  48. @Red-jl1qr on December 6, 2024 at 1:38 am

The problem is that a lot of the time you cant just wash away the paint and try again, you gotta throw the whole thing away
Shit sucks when you slowly realize that youve borked it so bad you gotta start from scratch

  49. @angstydoodles1101 on December 6, 2024 at 1:38 am

Toes are still harder for me. The sight of feet literally makes me gag. I just draw shoes on everything.

  50. @nachomori5764 on December 6, 2024 at 1:40 am

Sometimes you just gotta scrap it man. I had a doll I was working on that I procrastinated on doing the legs for so hard the clay dried out from under me. I was tempted to make it Work because i already built all this mass up and whatnot but just cutting it bare to the bone and doing it again in one sitting this time was the way
