IR blasters on phones are really usefull things. BUT since the led is so small it usually has a very small range. But still usefull though

  3. @jjb0894 on March 27, 2025 at 7:56 am

IR is a dead technology… just like the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Most modern modern smart TVs use Bluetooth and/or have an app to control it with.

  4. @mamstowers on March 27, 2025 at 7:57 am

I also complained about it , very important though

Sounds like a western phone’s problems. Most Chinese Phones notably Huawei & Xiaomi still retains these features from their Entry Level up to their TOTL Flagship Devices

  39. @Strider2Count8492 on March 27, 2025 at 8:34 am

My Redmi Note 11 has an infrared blaster lmao

  40. @such-noob on March 27, 2025 at 8:35 am

    RATE MY PFP

  41. @Akturk77 on March 27, 2025 at 8:38 am

Yes, I remember those days, I used the remote control feature on my Galaxy S5 to turn off the mall TVs.

  42. @GodBlessPresTrump on March 27, 2025 at 8:39 am

Yeah same with FM radio tuners. It seems like the only phones that still have them are the ultra budget ones and I just don’t understand why. I know you can just stream most FM radio stations online but where’s the fun in that? Same with controlling the TV, you can still do it with smart TV’S over your home WIFI but where’s the fun in that. Just put the dam IR blasters back in the devices. Phones have definitely devolved over time.

  43. @hermanwooster8944 on March 27, 2025 at 8:39 am

Yes, the IR blaster is amazing. One Plus still has them.

  44. @LockSpaz on March 27, 2025 at 8:39 am

The argument isn’t redundant, it’s specious.

  45. @TheMainCore on March 27, 2025 at 8:40 am

My OnePlus 12 has IR, I use it every day

  46. @yeahright528 on March 27, 2025 at 8:43 am

My phone doesn’t have one but I can still use it as a remote. As long as you have a smart TV and wifi, you should be good to go.

  47. @bertog8080 on March 27, 2025 at 8:47 am

I miss my LGV20 I had an IR and could control alomst anything

  48. @panagiotispappas1001 on March 27, 2025 at 8:48 am

My old xiaomi phone has this. It’s still really useful for when I get a device and I don’t have its remote!

  49. @manonamission2000 on March 27, 2025 at 8:50 am

Wait, how is that phone running iOS??

  50. @joyconfdpd6222 on March 27, 2025 at 8:55 am

I was shocked to find my Honor Magic V3 had one and my boyfriend has an older TV so i use it for that
