Plus remember virtual game cards in late April. Those will help make all of our games fully shareable and accessible to all of our consoles.

    “I can’t read”
    “Baseball huh…”

  4. @kyethefungi on April 6, 2025 at 8:35 am

If it’s just a download code then it shouldn’t cost extra. Not to mention that not having the whole mass of game data means there is no way to 100% ensure the game is preserved, which Nintendo has shown they care the bare minimum about.

  5. @inkling1474 on April 6, 2025 at 8:36 am

    Finally someone gets it.

  6. @HITMAN04766 on April 6, 2025 at 8:36 am

Who cares if they are available if NO ONE WILL BUY THEM

  7. @dr875_chihuahuaVR on April 6, 2025 at 8:36 am

  9. @Sp_cehobo on April 6, 2025 at 8:37 am

You have become complacent in Nintendo’s chains, I will chase my freedom on the seven seas

  10. @minecraftcreeper777 on April 6, 2025 at 8:37 am

It’s bad as well, since you dont own the game, if you dont have a connection to the internet, you can’t play games and forget about playing games in their release version since it will come updated when you download it which is sad for games that get worse after updates (like totk)

  11. @PulseFeelsTired on April 6, 2025 at 8:38 am

Has anyone ever told you that you look like Elijah Nelson from Shiloh and Bros?

    Actually a good point

  17. @ikelos_sg_v1.0.15 on April 6, 2025 at 8:45 am

The issue isn’t that these cards were supposedly one-use only, the issue is that you practically own nothing. Like games bought on Steam or in the e-shop, these  "game key cards" are only licenses that allow you to download and play the game for however long the company that grants you the license decides you may. There have been tons of cases where people lost their games, their money and the time spent earning that money, because maintaining the game or certain servers was no longer profitable enough for the company. That’s why people insist on owning a game physically, because no matter what, even if the online stores go offline and the console isn’t sold anymore, you still own it and may play it on your terms. These "key cards" are literally a waste of resources, because there is no difference to buying the game online, other than giving you a false sense of ownership and the increased price.

  18. @bluestacks6679 on April 6, 2025 at 8:49 am

I downloaded the game card, Cdot.

  19. @GMacPLAYZ on April 6, 2025 at 8:51 am

  20. @Euniee3 on April 6, 2025 at 8:52 am

Day 104 of asking cdotkom his opinions on Xenoblade Chronicles 2 because I’m curious

  21. @Drayqun on April 6, 2025 at 8:53 am

Not all of the games will be key cards.
It says on the box if it is a key card or it has the full game.
Projekt Red has confirmed Cyberpuck will not be a card key and the whole game will be on the card

  22. @qdzero457 on April 6, 2025 at 8:55 am

persevationist of the future are definitely quaking in their boots

  23. @SavePhysicalMedia on April 6, 2025 at 8:58 am

Imagine buying this empty physical key card from someone in the future just to find out the game was pulled and can’t be downloaded

  24. @TerroSeas on April 6, 2025 at 9:00 am

still it doesnt justify the price for the cards nore a console that is still way to underpowered

  25. @theruine3110 on April 6, 2025 at 9:00 am

From what i understood not all “physical” games are game keycards

  26. @مروةالريحاني-ن8ي on April 6, 2025 at 9:00 am

    Are you?

  27. @Porpolhot-furina-s-husband on April 6, 2025 at 9:00 am

    Pirate argh argh argh

  28. @TrackerZ24 on April 6, 2025 at 9:01 am

This is a ridiculous statement. They’re still going to charge a full physical game price, and it completely defeats the purpose of even owning a physical copy. which is the own a copy of the game that is truly yours and Nintendo can’t take down for whatever reason they feel like.

  29. @WATER-qv9yz on April 6, 2025 at 9:01 am

Sure, but it’s still replacing regular cartridges and when the switch 2’s servers are finally taken down, the cartridges will be nothing but useless pieces of plastic.

  30. @joshuasutherland6395 on April 6, 2025 at 9:05 am

There was no “because you’re subscribed right?”

Also, I can’t read what did the switch say

  31. @Kraken54321 on April 6, 2025 at 9:07 am

    🤡🤦

  32. @swtch.. on April 6, 2025 at 9:10 am

All of you guys are missing the point🤦‍♂️
    1. It will require wifi to download these games since the data is not stored on the cartridge.
    2. It basically being a key to a game that you download means that YOU DO NOT OWN IT.
    3. Once switch 2 servers go down you will not be able to play download these games unless you already have them installed or if you MOD your console and pirate the titles.

I’m just as excited as anyone else for the switch 2 but Nintendo is heavily anti consumer and everybody cant just be ok with the stuff that they’re doing

  33. @rosbindadolmo on April 6, 2025 at 9:11 am

    Switch

  34. @GruntGan on April 6, 2025 at 9:12 am

Until they charge an extra 10 dolars because it’s physical.

  35. @erikburzinski8248 on April 6, 2025 at 9:12 am

The problem is nintendo likes to close its stores and I keep my consoles a long time I still have my xbox 360 if Nintendo always kept there store open forever I would agree.

  36. @jeantsimracer on April 6, 2025 at 9:13 am

Yea….I still want the whole game on the cartridge thank you very much.

  37. @Finest-raven on April 6, 2025 at 9:14 am

The problem witch digital games is you technically don’t own the games and with this new "key cards" it’s the same way you wont own the game you will only own a password to have the ability to play the game

  38. @NatyC88 on April 6, 2025 at 9:14 am

Someone teach Darth Schlorpo to read-

  39. @trucbizard365 on April 6, 2025 at 9:15 am

They can just produce larger game cards like a micro sd card

  40. @N0Bah_D-666 on April 6, 2025 at 9:15 am

At this point, the only people pushing Switch 2 hype are either paid by Nintendo to do so, or fanboys who would still pay $2k for a slightly upgraded console just because of their nostalgic attachment to their favorite childhood corporation.

Woooooow… A console with specs from 5 years ago… HYPE

  41. @HelloChick on April 6, 2025 at 9:17 am

But 1: Why is it 10 dollars extra then
2: This is a part of the problem of not owning the games you buy
You’re opinion is good, but you’re missing the main points of the problem

And I’m not trying to hate here, but you could really sound less above others, I get you’re looking into it more and have a more positive view on things, and that’s great. But you call people dumb, just because they overexaggerate their main point a little too much. A point that comes from a valid concern.

  42. @detmaat3039 on April 6, 2025 at 9:18 am

Until they decide to turn it off.
the nostalgia that we have now with 20 year old Gameboy games still being usable will not be existing in the future. Because they don’t want you to have the ability to exit the market as consumer and play old games. They want you to be at their Mwrc and when they notice people don’t buy new expensive stuff but play more with these old key bound games they will turn off some keys and get the people back to the market.
"you will own nothing and you will be happy."

  43. @mr.michael1062 on April 6, 2025 at 9:18 am

I am very well aware of these Key Cards, when i had gotten Cyberpunk 2077, that’s how i got, I’m pretty sure i still have it around my house somewhere

  44. @JonahAGamr on April 6, 2025 at 9:20 am

    Baseball, huh?

  45. @Doctorlobotomyofficial on April 6, 2025 at 9:24 am

While this is nice having a physical digital game it kinda defeats the purpose for most games being physical because you don’t need internet with a physical game so people off grid or don’t have access to WiFi can play but it’s not the same like this. Not to mention this basically means your paying an extra 10$ for a plastic case and physical keycard. But you already knew that because you were subscribed right?

  46. @neon_user1146 on April 6, 2025 at 9:25 am

Wait until ppl who do Nintendo Homebrew find a way to bust through using this card. But no worries! Nothing… SUPER illegal happening then

  47. @Famalambam924 on April 6, 2025 at 9:28 am

Deltarune is 60 tomorrows away YIPPE (this is not stopping until deltarune is out or if Cdot sees it)

  48. @CrystalHyehehe on April 6, 2025 at 9:30 am

You could read what it said because you’re subscribed right?

  49. @GabethatguyGaming on April 6, 2025 at 9:30 am

Say goodbye to normal priced games…
