DJ had great thoughts and work but also at those early days we did not underrstand certain terpenes ( and entourage effect ). Get us higher than others so flavors really matter , but effect is #1. Its nice James talks about his evolution of his breeding , its appreciated

The only thing I want to say is, I believe what he is describing as "morphing" just sounds like the plant expressing a different phenotype under a different environment. Which is normal.

  11. @taoist42 on June 28, 2025 at 12:47 pm

Thanks for calling out genetic drift. Lots of people get it wrong. Look it up.

  12. @Patriot_First on June 28, 2025 at 12:48 pm

Shout out to Strawberry cough. I’m from Bridgeport CT we smoked so much of that growing up but until about a year ago I did not know Kushman got that cut from Bridgeport

  17. @EnzoWLA on June 28, 2025 at 12:56 pm

Man you know you’re high when you start getting real philosophical about shit lol. Happens all the time. A mf gets high and the spirit of Socrates mysteriously enters the room. Preach it Plato!

  18. @brotherkron on June 28, 2025 at 12:59 pm

Crazy, I found a seed in some strawberry cough in 07 ish. Me and my dad were already growing so I figured why not sprout it. That seed became our favorite weed. The taste and aroma omg. Pops tried naming it Walker Supreme haha I told him that’s not how it works. He pass a year later. I tried giving the clones to the few growers I knew. I ended up losing the strain. Super sad and still to this day I haven’t tasted and smelt those flavors. Good episode. I love these stories.

  19. @woowutank5576 on June 28, 2025 at 1:00 pm

I had 3 different strawberry coughs indirectly from Kushman one of them i let go it made anyone that tried it paranoid asf. The one i kept smelled like frankincense and myrrh. I never got immune to it. Was amazing.

  20. @daviddawson1718 on June 28, 2025 at 1:02 pm

Expect to fail on your first crop, but expect to do better next time. Treat it like practice. If you love to practice, you get better.

I been waving the flag for Tropicana Cherry for 2 years now as the one cultivar that gives me the best efficiency out of anything I’ve ever tried.
With only testing 18-22% normally it’s a true test that THC % don’t matter as I have one of the highest tolerance out of anyone I know.
Awesome talks man! Love hearing about the genetics

time to pop all the old seeds to bring back real effects

  27. @phasenutrients on June 28, 2025 at 1:14 pm

The plant has soul, the same strain is often grown and looks different with different growers. And so do the effects . The plant can feel pain and energies of the grower and can change its terpene profile to heal. Thats the magic.

  28. @Wanderlei10 on June 28, 2025 at 1:15 pm

If I had to choose one dude to smoke with from the weed scene, it would be Kyle Kushman.

  50. @earthboundorganics747 on June 28, 2025 at 1:37 pm

Interesting concept what if the cannabis industry added another tax (at the dispo 😁) that would solely be dedicated towards hiring scientists to examine this amazing plant? Make the gov look even more ignorant.. scientifically speaking of course
