Cannabis small-scale farmers anxious about proposed commercialisation

Small-scale farmers growing Cannabis in the Eastern Cape are anxious about the proposed commercialisation of this sector as announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa during his SONA. In his speech, Ramaphosa told the nation that this industry has the potential to create 130-thousand jobs in the Eastern Cape. The growers want a clear beneficiation programme as they fear that families who’ve been dependent on selling their product on the black market, might be excluded.
