How Do You Create Feminized CANNABIS Seeds?

It’s not often we look at plants and wonder if they are male or female.
In most cases, they are a bit of both when they have flowers.

These flowers usually contain a stamen – the male bit, and the pistil, the female bit.

The cannabis plant, however, is a bit different.

There are male plants and female plants.

Thanks to this wonder of nature, you can subsequently cross pollinate cannabis plants.

This means you can take the male of one strain and cross it with the female of another, to produce a third strain.

This crossing of different cannabis strains has lead to the creation of tens of thousands of new breeds and crosses, allowing breeders to promote the most desirable characteristics.

Male cannabis plants flower and only produce pollen.

Female cannabis plants produce buds, which, when fertilized with pollen from the male, produce seeds that will then grow either male or female plants.

However, If the buds on the female plant aren’t pollinated, they simply grow bigger and juicier, and it is that which is the Holy Grail of the cannabis producer.

Now, don’t ask us how this was discovered, but here’s a curious thing.

When buds first appear on a female cannabis plant and you spray them with colloidal silver, this tricks the buds into thinking they have been fertilized and seeds are produced.

But that’s not the end. Because there has been no male pollen involved in the process, all the seeds produced will only grow female cannabis plants.

They call these seeds feminized, we call it clever.

There is just no video that explains short and sweet how to create feminized seed. I plant more than a 100 seeds and did not yield 1 female. WHY?

That is not how to feminize marijuana. First off you don’t need silver nitrate . Though it does make the process easier. Marijuana plants are unique in that female plants when stressed will produce male flowers. This can be done a number of ways. Most commonly by overheating and underwatering the plant. The pollen is then taken from the stressed female plant having xx chromosomes and used to pollinate a normal female plant. This produces seeds with only xx chromosomes. If you pollinate the same female plant you risk producing hermaphrodite seeds. Silver nitrate does NOT trick the plant into thinking it’s pollinated. It stresses the plant causing it to produce male flowers.

How often do i need to spray. And at what stage

  13. @TheFredkent on August 17, 2025 at 3:04 pm

This video is misleading ….feminized seeds are NOT created with this method. Colloidal Silver is applied daily to the flowers around week 4/5 of flowering for approximately 17 to 20 days to force the female plant to produce POLLEN SACKS (where the MALE genome is not present in that pollen). Those pollen sacks produce pollen that can only produce FEMALE seeds when applied to other plants who,s flowers are also at the week 4/5 level…..simple really..

When u spray pollen is produced not seeds

  17. @enigmaticloremaster1700 on August 17, 2025 at 3:09 pm

There are actually 3 types of plants, you neglected the hermaphrodite plant which grows both male and female parts. The question is do the seeds from Hermaphrodite plants also produce female plants or more hermaphrodite plants? or does it make no difference to the seed cycle?

  18. @MDB.6 on August 17, 2025 at 3:11 pm

I know this video is three years old but it isn’t correct.

hello buddy, i wanna ask something, if im spraying one branches of my autoflower with colodial silver so other branch is polinating itself so the seed will be autoflower or no? Thanks

  27. @WHU_JACK on August 17, 2025 at 3:20 pm

I have always wondered how they were guaranteed female I always thought they got seeds and tested them to see if they was male or female very clever

  28. @potnoodledad9990 on August 17, 2025 at 3:20 pm

So if I sprayed CS on my Northern lights autos on the buds sites I would get feminised seeds? Is it that simple…

  29. @nickc8729 on August 17, 2025 at 3:20 pm

Is this the only way to feminize seeds? What if a female clone becomes a hermaphrodite and pollinates a female? Will those seeds be feminized??

  30. @Neonblue84 on August 17, 2025 at 3:23 pm

or you let stress by light to hermaphrodite your girl and let polinate itself.

  31. @HobbyWorldOld on August 17, 2025 at 3:23 pm

Is there a ready spray for this, where can we buy it?

  34. @thedonsuniverse8653 on August 17, 2025 at 3:25 pm

Question if you’re female plant produce buds along with seeds naturally with no male around how could it have got pollinated

  35. @BruceBailey-b7x on August 17, 2025 at 3:25 pm

I subscribed just because you told me how this feminization is done. I’d been wondering. Gotta love the internet.

  36. @kellyneighbor7624 on August 17, 2025 at 3:29 pm

what a drastically misinformative video. This information is incorrect and poorly presented. Maybe you want to understand how it works before claiming yourself an expert on cannabis and touting misinformation. Click Bait

  38. @fromthe716 on August 17, 2025 at 3:30 pm

I just tried this to see if it actually worked. I let my clone flower for 4 weeks and just sprayed the buds and stems.

    I got seeds 🤯

  39. @robertromig90 on August 17, 2025 at 3:31 pm

I grew plants this year… From seeds from last year’s harvest. I had 3 out of 8 of my plaint’s male. The other five, two indicas, two sativa & and one hybrid

  40. @patrickthonglor on August 17, 2025 at 3:31 pm

finally… a simple video that explains everything. thanks.

  41. @trickynik12 on August 17, 2025 at 3:32 pm

I think you forgot to say that the colloidal silver sprayed on to a female before flowering prevents a flower growing and produces a sac of female pollen. That female pollen is then used on the flowers of the same plant or a different one. That will produce female seeds.

  42. @1Kream on August 17, 2025 at 3:32 pm

    Another UN-EDUCATIONAL or DE-EDUCATIONAL vid . 🤔

  43. @MattWeedon on August 17, 2025 at 3:33 pm

    Please help.

I have a female that was pollinated by a male, and the female produced hundreds of seeds in the buds.

Are those seeds from the female (natural pollination) still just a 50/50 chance of being female?

  44. @BudBusterz on August 17, 2025 at 3:35 pm

So how do they cross strains and make their own strain if the spray only makes the females plants seed and not sacks . Just trying to make my own strains . This is great to keep my favorite strains in stock that I don’t want to keep buyin
